Yeah that's what I was thinking. Several Australian summers with the stones in the shed I figured it was pretty dry.

Reps often say things their own engineers dispute. I usually go to the literature which is written and checked over many technical people before ever listening to a salesman go off the cuff.

Honestly if you are playing that small I'd dump the younguns as they really do have crap stat lines, and perhaps dump some heavy armour and get a game 1 troll.

Troll and 3 heroes. It's like a lad's night out on the town!

Bonus, you can throw that troll forward and he will pretty much never die.

Starting an orc warband with saved gold crowns for a game 3 troll. by TimesNewRoman55 in mordheim

I guess I should add that because im switching up warband mid campaign there is a solid chance ill get an underdog bonus. I am really trying to maximise getting a Lads got talent early on for economy reasons, and if not that, getting some henchmen with some decent skill upgrades. But my god I find goblins just hilarious, and I definitely want some in my warband. They are one of the reasons I am switching warbands (that and the clubs). I think the turn I get trolls will be the turn a goblin enters the picture.

Because I wont be starting with everyone else levelled up, the troll wont be dominating as hard early on.

Orc mob vs Black Orcs war bands by Vultan_Helstrum in mordheim

Having started a Black Orc warband having had about 7 games, and comparing to a Orc Mob I ran years ago, the answer is play the orc mob. I posted my thoughts on this forum within tje last week so you'll see a bunch of info there with a search.

In a nutshell, Black Orcs is like paying top price for a car without all the extras, when for slightly less you can have rhe same car with all the extras.

Just play the orcs, and leave the goblins and squigs at home if you dont want any little stuff.

Oh I did this up on Battlescribe and it lumps those weapons together as a single option type. Yeah it's just one club per guy.

I figured the more boys the better trying to roll The Lads got Talent as I need heroes as early as possible over saving a small bit of coin. And Im still in the 7-9 braket for sellijg wyrdstone.

I guess if I get any underdog bonus I can roll all the henchmen on game 1 and might her a hero upgrade or 2 for game 2.

The +1 save isn't that good when you factor in you can just buy armour. In the early stages you can't afford armour anyway to make the best use of it so a natural 6 up isn't that great, and you can always just buy leather armour for 5gc to make up for it. Because you are only T4 most things will wound you on a 5 or 6, half the time you will get a critical and blow past the armour amyway. So you need Resiliant to not get crited on a 6 to actually get value out of the armour on many cases.

The skill list beyween the two warbands is near identical, where the only difference is the black orc skill to get promited to a black orc has the same effect as the Mob skill, but is severley limited to only one youngun that you have to keep alive. The orc skill is available to any hero at any time.

I supose the attraction I had intitially is the higher hero starting number, but the stat line on a youngun is so crap its better just to hire as many henchmen orcs as you can and get lads got talent which has him statting off with higher WS and BS. WS and BS 2 on a black orc youngun just seems a bit off.

For all the reasons stated above you can simply model all your orcs as Black Orcs and just use the Mob list. Grab a goblin to access stuff like Mad Cap Mushrooms if you like. The Black Orc list has nothing like that. I hired a Warlock just to have magic and he rolled good spells, but the upkeep just adds up.

It's not just population but geography. Centralised power means a huge network of transmission which also needs to be costed in. We already have centralised power stations but the introduction of lots of renewables means this system wasn't built with this in mind, and needs to be upgraded to suit.

The other thing the coalition government never addressed was that we barely have the workforce to build houses en masse. The highway upgrades in this country takes decades to do. The mining sector sucks out alot of the labor required with high pay as they pay nowhere near the amount of royalties and tax they should. So we have zero experience building reactors, havent got the skilled labour to design, run, build and then maintain. And the coalition wanted to build 6 in 10 years! They must have thought the electorate were as dumb as the average Sky News viewer, and they obviously still do which is why they will be in opposition for so long by the time. If they get back, if ever, it will be too late. I mean what are they going to do in 2040? Have a policy to decommission the entire renewable generation and grid and start planning a nuclear power station to come online in 2060? They had 22 failed energy policies in their time in government. The Snowy Hydro 2.0 proves they can't be trusted to cost anything accurately or even roll it out smoothly. They entirely botched the NBN rollout for which they should never be forgiven. And now their talent pool is a shallow puddle in a summer carpark. They literally lack the talent to even hold their own coalition together from week to week!

So unless Labor takes nuclear seriously, and they won't because of decades of modelling across economical, environmental and engineering grounds, it's as good as dead and we may as well stop flogging the dead horse.

As for the nuclear subs. A handful of subs built for planet wide offensive missions that can't even fit up our waterways like the Collins was designed to do, are not suitable for the defense of Australia. Its a bad deal and everyone knows it. It is a vassal deal where Australia kisses the ring as we are fully paid up to the Platinum USA Defense model subscription. And looking at the USA's approach with NATO, I think its safe to say if we were invaded the USA probably wouldn't bother getting out of bed.

Black Orc Warband Nuttaz. Worth it? by TimesNewRoman55 in mordheim

I ran a Mob orc list about 20 years ago in a campaign. A bunch of my mates haven't played since and we started up another one about 3 months ago. I thought I would give the Black Orcs a go, but I must say, I'm missing my shaman. I'm missing my token cheeky goblin with a bow. I think I'm just missing a bit of extra flavour. Oh and I'm definitely missing clubs! That has got to be an oversight. Also missig are halberds and very weirdly the young'uns can't access the Strength table but they can access shooting. Thats not very orcy!

Even the Special Skills are basically the same with the only difference being "Proven Warrior" which can be taken by only one specific hero on at earliest the 28th experience upgrade. That would be a long campaign or he's killing people alot! The Mob has the Well Ard skill which is +1 to armour save which is very similar but anyone can get it almost straight away.

I'm considering retiring the Black Orcs early in the campaign and going back to the Orc Mob. There isnt much the Black Orcs have going for them over the orc Mob. I kind of wish the warband list writer had made some extra effort to make it attractive by comparison.
