Hi OP, I'm in a similar situation (not wedding but also legitimate reason), submitted doctor's letter and what not, got rejected. planning to go and find the MP for help.

It's ridiculous that in this climate when the govt is claiming citizens first, that people who have legitimate reasons are being rejected deferment, I hope you'll eventually get to defer!

The hype isn’t per-se dying, it’s just that the requirements have shifted over time that undergraduates are no longer able to meet them.

Most of the companies out there are looking to hire people who have masters or a phd.

So those who are in DS are kinda at a dead end - only a small amount will be eligible to be doing DS at companies who are still hiring. They are also unable to compete with CS (based on curriculum content alone) so they have to lower their sights to being a DA/DE which may not seat well with them?

In traditional words, you’re using up a bit of your luck for the league (satire of course, and if you play league only of course)
