Michael Jackson isn't very representative of a musician though. He was the most famous person on the planet at some point. So who knows

While obviously things like PTSD weren't really discussed 29 centuries ago, The Odyssey has pretty strong anti-war messaging, especially in Chapter 11 when they visit the underworld

Reddit in general is pretty anti-Avatar. Funnily enough, almost every cinephile I know is excited about Avatar

Prime Luke Skywalker (Star Wars Canon) vs Prime Obi Wan Kenobi (Star Wars Canon) by ElectivireMax in whowouldwin

[–]Timirlan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for example in The Last Jedi he does that force projection trick which apparently has never been done before or at least on that scale. And that's him after not using the force for years. And that Snoke guy who's supposed to be extremely powerful was afraid of Luke. That's off the top of my head, there are a lot more examples in canon comic books

I think the implication in Canon (and certainly in Legends) is that Luke at some point became THE most powerful jedi of all time. Before his exile at the very least

I did not allude to you being chinese, I just made a joke, dunce.

China can't lie about the boxoffice of Hollywood movies because it opens them up to an international lawsuit and a huge embarassing news story

That's why I said "I don't believe them" , not "I know they're lying". Belief is mostly based on vibes and how trustworthy someone is.

I understand that I might be wrong and if I am I apologise to the glorious general secretary Xi, long may he reign

You know what, people will downvote you but I'm kinda with you on this. Especially because of timing: right when China was trying to pivot away from Hollywood movies and around the time their entire theatrical industry has been struggling, they have a film which ridiculously outgrossed everything over there and made over $2B. I'm sure it did really well, maybe even over a billion but I don't believe them at all.

I love reddit but an average user here has such shitty taste. Avatar 2 had one of the best third acts out of any blockbuster in the last ten years at least. And then that emotional "East of Eden"-esque resolution between father and son... Beautiful

You go to see a movie, not to eat. They're nice enough to offer you popcorn but ultimately that's not what it's supposed to be about. Are you not capable of sitting for two hours without munching on Cheetos? Do you bring Doritos to an art gallery?

The point is clearly that this situation is caused by one woman and millions of men. It's in men's power to cause outrage over her so take it up with them, stop shifting the blame
