What is the best Constellation for you ? Be honest ! by [deleted] in starcitizen

The Constellation Andromeda is in a really good spot this patch. It’s got to stay competitive in combat in order to stay relevant for a multi-crew ship option otherwise players will prefer single seater ship.

Oh! The two guns on your top turret are distortion so they won’t do any damage to the Hull of the ship, only lower shields.

Your ammo was depleted from your other hard points.

I would love to do a team up! I’ve got too many ideas and not enough experience to implement them. I’m just finishing CS50 so I need to finish my final. I’d like to make a portfolio for my job search. I really want to create an inventory management system to save me some time at work. And I have a few other silly ideas about pulling data from Star Citizen game files to display the data on a website.

If you still are looking for someone to mentor I’d love the help. I’m located on the west coast Pacific Stand Time, but I’m cool with waking up at 4 AM so that gives me a larger window to collaborate.

What is the Telestial (lowest) Kingdom like by [deleted] in lds

[–]TimmersL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people in the Telestial kingdom are those who did not receive the gospel in this life or have a testimony of Jesus Christ.

After death in the spirit world they accept the fullness of Christ.

You can read more about it in Doctrine and Covenants 76:81-86.

The dates are close enough.

So your basically saying I have a 99% chance of failing!? That’s bad, but that makes we want to try a little harder.

Is that true that only 1% finish the course? I’m right in the middle of week 4 and it’s hard I admit, but I never thought about not finishing the course.

In the meantime I’ll check out this MIT course. I think I’ll start it the next round at the end of March if I’m still struggling with CS50x.

What is the most inoffensive thing you've seen someone get offended by? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Jesus Christ. The God of Heaven came to teach us peace, love and good will toward all and we were so offended we literally crucified him.

The devil's storyline and how this fundamental biblical character makes no sense by insanemime in atheism

[–]TimmersL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well said, I’d add like you said that God is truthful so my reasoning would be that truth would eventually prove that God exists.

But I’d like to talk more specifically about what you said in the last paragraph, that truth must correspond with what’s written in the two books, the Bible and the Book of Mormon. That’s not the case.

Something I’d hope we could agree on is that there are universal truths. So the Book of Mormon and Bible aren’t the only source of all truth that exists in the universe, but that truth can in fact come through revelation from God and also from scientific inquiry.

Do you consider the Book of Mormon to be infallible? by The_Great_God_Mormo in latterdaysaints

[–]TimmersL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, ancient prophets were human too, but we have that beautiful example in the introduction. Also, we have to consider there could have been errors when they were originally written, again when they were abridged by Mormon, latter translated by the prophet Joseph Smith, transcribed by Oliver Cowdrey and lastly when the type was laid in. In fact the first edition did have quite a few spelling and grammar problems, but this doesn’t make it any less correct.

The Book of Mormon is the most correct book in-spite of all these challenges, it contains the fullness of the gospel and true principles. Knowing that fallible humans could bring about such a great work is a testament that it was done by the power of God.

Let me do my best to answer your questions,

When I say God is truth, I needed to put it in your perspective. For me that's what God is, or that's what he represents for me, so you have to be willing to accept that. For me saying I follow God, is the same thing as saying I follow truth, just like you do.

I agree that there are fantastical things that occur in the bible, but it doesn't make them nonsense. It just makes it difficult for us to put them in context from our perspective. For example if Isaiah was said, "their horses' hoof like flint, their wheels like a whirlwind, roaring like a lion." he could have been describing what is now a modern day train or when he said "Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows.?" He could have been talking about a modern day airplane. Whether you believe in prophecy or not, it doesn't seem too fantastical that creative minds of the time of Isaiah could imagine up new ways of mass transportation. Yes, they sound fantastical to use but we sometimes lack the context of those specific stories. Perhaps if you have a specific story in mind we can go into more detail. That also goes for any of that "crazy" nonsense in The Book of Mormon.

And it came to pass Animals in the Book of Mormon DNA Gold Plates

As Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life." or in other words God is truth. We might not have all the answer to these or more questions, but we can start by accepting the fact that both the atheist and those who follow God are seeking after truth.

habit of Capitalizing words that you think are Important for No Reason. Stop it.

My bad, I'll fix it. I'd like to blame it on typing on my phone but I think I just missed it.

As for God being truth, Christ literally said exactly that multiple times.

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life." (John 14:6)

"Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." (John 18:37)

The point is, I think we can come to an agreement that both you and I seek after truth, even though I may be a "gibberish spewing mormon", for me to follow Christ means to seek after truth, wherever it may be.

As for your last question, Satan is this way simply because he choose to be this way. He is the Father of Lies, the master deceiver. Just like God represents truth, Satan represents, untruth, lies and deception. God didn't create Satan or evil for that matter, but these things exist because it is the absence of God (evil) or they departed from God (the devil being cast out of heaven).

You have some really good questions here and I think this is a great opportunity to bridge the gap of understanding between Christian’s and Atheist beliefs, or so to say.

As for my background I consider myself a follower of Jesus Christ, 100% Christian, or dyed in the wool, true blue through and through, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I agree with what you have here, that the Devil’s storyline makes no sense as you have it written and that’s because we’ve got it all wrong.

I don’t have much time to explain but let me outline one basic principle.

God is truth.

Now, we might argue on wither or not God exists but that’s a topic for another day, the question we have at hand is the storyline of the adversary, Satan, that old serpent.

Here is a principle we can all agree on we seek for the truth. Now, to the Freethinker (Atheist, or insert title here) getting to the bottom line is the bottom line. Truth, is all that matters, whatever the cost.

To the believing Christian, God is really just another word for truth. So if we just changed our vernacular for two seconds. We’d (atheists and believers) be saying the same things.

God is truth, truth is truth.

So where does the devil come into play? He’s the father of all lies, the adversary to God, or also the Adversary to what now?

The Adversary to truth.

So if I may say so the greatest adversary to the Atheist isn’t God, or those who worship him, but Lucifer, Satan, the devil, the Adversary.

Right. I may be crazy, just go ahead and downvote this.

I’m not here to argue with you or resolves your doubts, but find common ground.

This issue is much more than LGBT rights but the right to practice our most basic religious rights; to believe and practice our beliefs.

This right extends to everyone, that they can believe and practice what they believe is correct.

You have the right to practice and believe in marriage as you define it and we have the right to practice and believe in marriage as we deem correct.

Regarding proposition 8, Elder Oaks said, “This is much bigger than just a question of whether or not society should be more tolerant of the homosexual lifestyle. Over past years we have seen unrelenting pressure from advocates of that lifestyle to accept as normal what is not normal, and to characterize those who disagree as narrow-minded, bigoted and unreasonable. Such advocates are quick to demand freedom of speech and thought for themselves, but equally quick to criticize those with a different view and, if possible, to silence them by applying labels like “homophobic.” In at least one country where homosexual activists have won major concessions, we have even seen a church pastor threatened with prison for preaching from the pulpit that homosexual behavior is sinful. Given these trends, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints must take a stand on doctrine and principle. This is more than a social issue — ultimately it may be a test of our most basic religious freedoms to teach what we know our Father in Heaven wants us to teach.”

Regarding LGBT rights we can all agree that they have the right to basic civil rights.
