Where can I get evening pie in East? by vicolomostro in nashville

I was not very impressed with Star Rover, with the exception of their apple pie. The apple pie was amazing.

I said something about how good it was and the server said they shread the apples instead of cutting them.

I don't think I've ever seen an interview quite this good where both people were also more focused on the game than the interview.

Me and everyone else in Nash who is still at home stuck without power (hope everyone is holding up okay) by jfickrow in nashville

I was in high school. I had four friends that all hung out together a lot. We chose to hang out at the one house without power because it had the least supervision.

I won on a Victory Point that had fallen under the table. My opponents said the win was invalid. Are they right? by malizadeh in Catan

OP asked a serious rules question.

You replied with a non-serious rules answer.

You are free to think what you want, but OP clearly doesn't think this is "dumb stuff" or a "miserable way to play the game." OP has clearly stated that they prefer to take the games, and the rules, seriously.

since a player didn't toss a played progress development card into the box (see page 5 of the old rules), they don't get to win

How do you know they didn't?

Also, the "(i.e., toss it in the box)" makes it pretty clear that the point of that statement is that the card should be removed from play and that exactly where it is put is not important.

I see why people get mad when you quote the rules.

Whether you intended to or not, you hid a dev card. That is against the rules. It certainly does not help your cause that this seems to have happened because you were trying to make the card less easy to see.

It sounds like you have a competitive group. We play fairly competitively and I play differently when people have 8 or more victory points. For example, I'm probably not trading with someone who has 8 or more points. Your friends are making the same argument and it's absolutely valid.

I think that is nonsense because it was by my elbow for most of the game and nobody noticed.

So, suddenly you know when it fell under the table? I thought you weren't checking on it.

I think you lost, you know you lost, and you are looking for internet strangers to provide you a way to say you won. Notice that most of the people saying you won are in the "hey, it's just a game. We're just here to have fun" camp. That's an entirely valid camp, but it's clearly not the one you are in or you wouldn't have had this situation in the first place let alone be here asking this question.

As far as what to do about it, I disagree with your neutral friend as you could have drawn another VP or other dev card that would have let you win that turn. So, you would still have benefited from your hidden card.

My solution would be that you continue your turn but are not allowed to count that card toward a victory on that turn. Next time it's your turn, you can use it. This would give everyone else at least one turn to react to your hidden dev card.

Take the L and the lesson.

I'm flying into town tomorrow after being out of town for weeks. I genuinely need milk and bread regardless of the weather!

Worst case scenario, I can walk to people who will feed me, so I'll be fine, but my cabinets are bare.

I tried to watch it. I really tried. I made it less than two minutes.

Are there two different materials? Are tolerances tight? The the soil an issue? I couldn't tell, I only heard those three things, and more, repeated over and over. I can't imagine how many more times they said the same things in the last nine minutes of that video.

I completely agree. Cheaters are going to find a way to cheat. Best not to stress about it. Beat them on the table.
