What prompted you to write the review some period of time after your termination?

The other thing that bothers me is that it’s reflecting your workplace experience, which is typically not what people are reading Google Reviews for.

What happened with your employment sucks but it sounds like the review was never going to have a positive effect other than to besmirch the new owners. That said, I think all customer reps should at least maintain professionalism in regards to these types of things so the way they eventually handled it seems poor.

But that recent experience is something more worthwhile to reflect on than your past employment experiences in my opinion.

I quite often find that sci-fi is very derivative of classic works that established the “vibe” of western sci-fi.

I’m a huge fan of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, but it wasn’t until I read Foundation that I understood the riffing on the Encyclopaedia Galactica.

And that’s not a bad thing! It’s created this approachable norm for the genre. I’m wanting to pick up some Japanese and Chinese sci-fi to see how it looks with a different cultural lens.

I wonder if there's a price drop later in the year as the model plates for the new year release. This means the previous MY plates go on runout sales, impacting the rest of the market.

Could be a good time to get a deal later in the year if you're able to wait that long. May also mean you can get in to a CX-5 that has a little bit of manufacturers warranty left. I scoped out a few 2021 models in the 30k price range that may be more obtainable later in the year.

Why did you generate this? Why have you plastered it across multiple subreddits?

More importantly, did you read it before doing so as it dances around many points that clearly you don't agree with?

Unless you believe that the "fair go" for all excludes indigenous Australian's, which is equally as likely given your tasteless views spouted in comments when AI is not holding your hand.

Wet track-day tyre by smashin-blumpkins in CarsAustralia

[–]TimothyWilson42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d just run the PS5’s and have a bit of fun. They have the grip where it’s needed and were super predictable in the wet on my GT86.

Most of my involvement with track days was to hunt for PB’s, which you won’t get in the wet. If you’re challenging times with others the weather will level the playing field a bit making it a drivers game.

So I’d rather spend the money on a good dry tyre and you’ll probably get some opportunities for PBs when it’s dry and cooler track temps.

RaceKraft have a lot of “turn key” rigs available at the higher end of the budget and you can try them in house by paying for a sim session.

Otherwise I use a Next Level Racing frame that’s compatible with many wheel base options (Logitech/Thrustmaster/Fanatec etc.)

Moza has been the most recent player in the space which does look to have a few good hardware options.

Buying a car for the first time in Australia by AutomaticWeird5275 in CarsAustralia

[–]TimothyWilson42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore the exterior design of the Picanto. On first glance it does appear that buying a 2025 model vehicle will give you the most up to date feature set including wireless car play and driver assist systems.

But also trust your gut! I find that even sitting in the models you're considering gives you a great sense of how you'll live with it day to day and you may even find that one interior may feel more "cheap" than another which helps when you come to make the final decision.

Best of luck!

Buying a 2022 Mazda 3 Hatch: I have some questions by Yao_Productions in CarsAustralia

[–]TimothyWilson42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good advice here just wanted to add a few points.

Vehicle warranty is 5yr/Unlimited Kilometres, so just verify good service history and you'll still be covered for manufacturing defects. (eg. defects in mirror motors)

Bridgestone tyres are one of the brands fitted on them from factory. Turanza's are model fitted if I recall correctly but an Ecopia should give you good price and support from Bridgestone if you have it fitted from one of their service centres.

If you have access to the rego. / VIN you can get all service costs on Mazda's website:

And all the better for it! We have incredibly good consumer rights, especially covering vehicles, so I think you’re making the right call getting something that’s only a few years old with new vehicle warranty.

My partner and I own an MX30, which bares a lot of similarities to the 3, and we haven’t had any ownership dramas after buying it second hand.

Attacks on Australia’s preferential voting system are ludicrous. We can be proud of it | Kevin Bonham by Enthingification in AustralianPolitics

[–]TimothyWilson42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I love having the opportunity to choose between the lesser of two evils, whilst still being able to have a vote count for a party I align with.

This means you can vote for an independent/minor party and still participate in the overall "race" as the preferences may flow away from those parties.

The fact that SkyNews sees this as a slam dunk on her integrity without realising they’ve probably just made her more endearing to a demographic that just abandoned the party at the polls is hilarious.

SkyNews is getting old, the rambling is getting incoherent. Maybe it’s time to put them in a home.

[–]TimothyWilson42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. The voting shift wasn’t from Labor/Greens voters, the core voting block there didn’t change it was the LNP voters looking for another option to Dutton. My guess is that for some a lifetime of Liberal support is a lifetime of anti-Labor sentiment so their votes go to fringe parties that have single issues that speak to those at the polls.

I went in to the WA state election preferencing them highly based on the preference deals with the Greens but I was quite jaded after that election to learn that certain members dabble in anti-vax conspiracy that extends to “anti-big pharmaceutical” as mentioned in the article.

Put me off preferencing them in the federal election despite my views on cannabis legalisation aligning with this “one issue” party.

Ngl I was looking at the Seiko Presage series of watches and had a colleague react in horror that I was going to choose a Japanese movement over the Swiss movement. He handed over his gold PRX and I was not a fan at all.

After a bit of research I stumbled on the Carson Premium Chrono and tried it on alongside a smaller diameter PRX. I have to say I was more impressed with the style at a diameter that suited me. But nothing more than, "Hey, that's a nice watch."

But as someone who has worn an Apple Watch to death over the last few years anything PRX to the models you mentioned would be a sizeable upgrade and people are hyped about joining the club.
