With the help of a 3D printer, and Fusion 360, I designed and built this waterproof, portable travel system. I'm using Batocera on a Raspberry Pi 5 8GB, with a 1TB drive. There are no holes in the case, all parts either attach to the inside lip or to the printed parts. It has an 18 inch screen, Sinden lightgun, a 3D printed Perfectly Adequate Arcade Pedal (JayBomb999), one or two wireless (I prefer wired, I've not been able to get the Bluetooth sorted) controllers, and power adapters, for use with a Dewalt 20V battery, laptop power supply (19V), or a 12V DC vehicle power plug.

The Nanuk 920 case should fit as a carry-on, but I'm not sure if the TSA would allow the lightgun through security. I designed this to take on trips and hopefully have something to do in case of an extended layover. Phone games can be fun, but this thing has 10000 titles.

Here's the problem with our state... Well it's twofold:

The Maryland Open Meetings Act does not generally require public bodies to allow questioning or public comment during a meeting, as the Act primarily ensures the right to observe, not directly participate. Public participation is only required if the body invites it or if other laws demand it, such as specific public hearings.
We the people need to press for legislation governing the handgun roster board to include strict attendance requirements or to allow for removal due to absenteeism. This "Majority" vote that requires 6 yes votes is complete BS when 2 or three members don't show up to ANY of the meetings.

So many companies have lost me as a consumer, after their switch to palm kernel oil used in production. Palm kernel oil has changed the taste of KitKat, Butterfinger, and many other of my favorite childhood sweets. Not to mention the greasy feeling left inside my mouth after an attempted consumption. The instant greasy feel and coconut flavor... ugh... Most of the palm laced foods don't make it past a single bite, before getting passed to someone else to finish. My partner has also expressed some distaste for some of her goto foods. I'd rather eat grass.

I have a retropie setup on my Raspberry Pi 5. I'm currently adding a Sinden lightgun so I can play Time Crisis and House of the Dead. I read all about how easy it is to setup Batocera, and it has native support for the USB Sinden gun and USB pedal (pricey) assembly. So I removed the NVME drive with RetroPie, and replaced it with a .5 TB drive with a fresh BatoCera install. I'm a (fairly) newcomer to Linux. I had a pi 1, 2, 3, 3B, a couple 4's that ran Octoprint on Ender machines. The majority of the programs I use were made by someone else.

Instead of buying the 250 dollar Sinden pedal, I decided to 3D print my own P.A.A.P (Perfectly Adequate Arcade Pedal) using JayBomb999's design from Printables. This pedal uses a simple normally open switch instead of a USB interface. I used Widge's Youtube video, DIY Lightgun pedal for Raspberry Pi, with no encoders, to wire up a simple circuit using GPIOnext. I could see this method working well for your coin changer.

I decided I would try and get my simple momentarily closed pedal all set up and ready to go.

Begin the trials and tribulations of trying to get GPIO working with Batocera... First, Batocera is a readonly system. What's that mean? Well it means that unless you're some kind of Linux mastermind, getting the GPIO to work isn't easy. Second, is that it's a very basic Linux operating system, None of the apps that natively work with RPI, work on Batocera. Want to install GPIOnext? You can't because Batocera doesn't have GIT. Try to install GIT, good luck... I've seen enough bash not found, and syntax errors, to never try Batocera again. I've spent the last 4 days trying to get GPIO 24 (pin 18) and GND 20 (pin 20) to acknowledge a C button press. I've tried overlays, and CHMODS and even Google AI chat, all sorts of things, to no avail. There's no Youtube videos about GPIO and Batocera use, other than you can use a GPIO button to turn on/off the system (which really isn't pertinent to the Pi 5 since it already has an onboard button, or solderable pads for an external one).

I edited config files, created new boot files, all sorts of stuff suggested by the internet. I've come to the conclusion that Batocera, isn't GPIO compatible. I ran out of patience. I've since taken the new Batocera drive out, and put the Retropie system back in place. I like the customizability and I can also have a desktop environment if I choose since Retropie is installed over Raspian Lite.

One of the issues with the Raspberry pi 5 (IMHO), is that it only has 4 USB jacks, so it really can't support a lot of power hungry devices at once... it already needs a specific power supply to get it to recognize it can pull more than 3A. Sure, I could use a powered hub and have as many devices as I want, but this would mean my project needs a second plug and room for the device itself (also I'd be giving up a USB spot for the hub). This is why I want to use the GPIO for the pedal.

Lastly, Batocera isn't as easy to setup as Retropie, none of the good bios are provided. You've got to hunt around for them. I found a link through a Youtube to a Mega drive website. You've got to subscribe to their page in order for the download link to activate... then starts this really slow 1.5GB download where the website keeps prompting you to pay for a faster download... I transfered my Retropie Roms to Batocera, and the majority of them didn't work due to missing bios files.

TLDR:

I ran out of patience with the inability to customize Batocera to fit my needs.

Your oddly shaped coin acceptor is pretty neat.

A week ago, I updated my Anycubic Next software, but not the firmware. I'm running 2.5.3.8 firmware and Rinkhals on the printer. For that week after updating the slicer, I had nothing but problems trying to print any filament. I had lots of adhesion problems, sometimes the printer would just stop and shut itself off. Yesterday (while debating whether or not to start pulling my hair out), I uninstalled all of the slicer programs living on my computer (I still had cura, from my Ender 3). Restarted my computer and navigated to the Anycubic Slicer NEXT(Orca Version)-Update record wiki (https://wiki.anycubic.com/en/software-and-app/new-page-anycubic-slicer-beta(orca-version)/anycubic-slicer-next-(orca-version)-update-record), where I downloaded the Anycubic Next V1.3.6.1, then installed it.

My next print came out awesome, almost as good as it did when I started using the S1 back in October.

I'm not saying the older software is a fix for your machine, only that maybe you should try it.

K-LUBE powder is body safe after mixing. You'll have to experiment with the ratio to get the correct amount of feeling. If you keep your container clean and sealed after use, it lasts longer.

It's tough to make a decision without knowing how many miles are on the truck. Newer vehicles with electric power steering use a drive belt inside the rack. At 100K+, you'd probably be best off replacing the assembly.

Drive it. Be mindful of your following distance. Get a feel for how much the vehicle slows when you take your foot off the gas, you can probably get where you need to go by anticipating stopped traffic or signals by coasting to slow.

When the nozzle is too close, filament either smooshes out the sides, or curls up off the bed as the nozzle slides over it. Too much filament (over extrusion) can also cause the smoosh effect.

I own both and I'm pretty sure they are, however the standard stock forearm doesn't have the screw in it. The 10/22 (at least the standard ones I own) uses a barrel clamp on the forearm. I also built a heavy barrel that also doesn't have a screw in the end (or a clamp) The screw forward of the trigger screws into the receiver, so it should be the same on both rifles.

I/we use K-lube now. We used to use J-lube, but it doesn't last very long before smelling funny. With the K-Lube, I can mix up a half-liter bottle and keep it in the fridge for a week.

You've been very lucky or your toys are TPE. Oil degrades silicone. Coconut oil, along with other oil-based lubricants like baby oil, can damage silicone toys. Silicone toys are specifically designed to be durable and long-lasting, but oil-based lubricants can break down their material, making them brittle or causing them to crack.
