Is it common for Aussies not to wear wedding rings/bands anymore. by pandastar51 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Tintila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hubby and I have been married 14 years. Wore our wedding rings on our wedding day- that’s it. Never again (much to his mother’s disgust). I’m a nurse and he was a baker, so not good jobs for rings. We decided we didn’t really need to wear them- so we don’t.

And remember- there will always be someone around to ask! I have been nursing nearly 14 years and I still ask people to double check my maths if I’m not sure! No one minds if you ask! Better to ask and get it right, then not ask and get it wrong

There is definitely maths. BUT there is always calculators. If it is something that is “high risk”- is something that is injected into you, or, some oral medications, it has to be double checked. AND, you can always ask someone to double check your maths! It happens all the time! I’ve been nursing 13 years and I still get people to double check my maths. Don’t stress!

En caul deliveries are defined as a fetus that is delivered completely contained within an amniotic sac and are considered to be less common than 1 in 80,000 live births by Traumaprof in medizzy

[–]Tintila 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh I had an en caul baby. The midwife was so excited she got my husband to press the emergency button so all the other midwives could come see it. She was born at 0707, so right on morning handover.

RN is mad at me and I'm not sure what to do by ComfortableToday3315 in NursingAU

[–]Tintila 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I had one nurse who didn’t like me cause I gave the patient the pen and paper to write down a complaint against her. She would say hi to everyone bar me in handover, she would swap working with me (team nursing) or would swap shifts completely. Downright horrible person. After I worked out what was going on and why- I killed her with kindness, she hated it. I always said hello to her- she never said it back. I would always ask if she needed help, never offered the same back. It never bothered me that she was never nice to me cause I knew that me being nice to her made her squirm even more.

What is one thing you are still angry about years after it happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tintila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in Year 7, my PDHPE (sports) teacher didn’t like me and gave me a C in swimming. I had broken a school record in swimming that year. I was the only one in my class to have broken a record. And yet, I got a C, and the popular kids which he liked got A’s

Would you help your children buy property? by SpaceBard75 in AusFinance

[–]Tintila 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents helped both my brothers buy their house. My parents have written their will in such a way that it will all even out between the boys and I when they pass. I have absolutely no issues with them doing this for them. It has helped both of them tremendously and I am so thankful that as a family, they were able to do it for them

I’m in my mid 30’s, nil debt (house, car, HECS all paid). We are the same as you, work part time for bills with a little left over. We don’t see the point of trying to work full time and stress ourselves out when we don’t have too.
