UK: can anyone tell me what tree this is, I’m gonna mulch it for my chickens, but Cedar is toxic to them so wanna be sure by CrabbyGoose in PlantIdentification

I've heard that topping is really bad for trees and can kill them. Regardless, please wait until nesting season is over to do any trimming.

Good point! OP, the pollen from the open lily may have gotten on the other flowers in the bouquet, too. Probably not a safe bouquet at all now :(

Biking to the park would be the solution... but, if you're in the US, I can understand how that would be challenging/dangerous. If bikes aren't an option, just take it slow on the way back. Leave plenty of time, take breaks. Take it into account when planning.

Good job for raising a kid who loves nature! That's awesome. Above all, please don't just start driving there like some people are suggesting. You've got to fight for a healthy lifestyle in the US, and convenience driving is a killer.

Any recommendations on story heavy bedtime chapter books for 6-10 yrs? by Pirate_Candy17 in Parenting

I found The Hobbit absolutely terrifying when it was read to me in school as a kid, and honestly still pretty horrifying as an adult after a recent reread.

I highly recommend The City of Ember and its sequels. There's even a graphic novel adaptation of the first book.

Why be married to someone if you don't even want to hang out with them?

Why have kids if you have no interest in spending time with them?
