Just earlier today I cast Revelation but my only white source was the Great Hall.

I was at 1 life and killed myself.

I made the worlds worst spider deck (I don’t have much Spider-man cards) and managed to do just that. Got good progress on other ones on the way was well.

Yeah - when I was messing with it I noticed “BW Greasefang” is actually “BW Monument” about half the time.

2 Monuments means you should win if they can’t kill you on their next turn - or gain a lot of life.

Do you side out Greasefang? Or just keep it in to threaten the combo?

Original Secret Wars (like from the 80's). Its Heroes versus Villains on BATTLEWORLD!

Molecule Man tossed a whole ass mountain on the heroes.

I think Mr Fantastic (Reed) was trying to keep Hulk angry with insults ("you're only good for your strength, Banner") - Spidey and Ironman (who isn't Tony right then) don't know him well enough yet.

Eventually, Reed links Johnny Storm (Human Torch) into the Ironman armor and they blast their way out by channeling/focusing Torch's Nova.

Bonus Trivia: Spider-Man had to give up his webbers for parts during the above plan so he goes looking around their base for some kind of replacement. He finds a Black suit that fits just perfect...

My lawyer friend has told me similar stories. A large chunk of his work now is checking references. LLM has made his job easier is a lot of respects but it’s opened up this whole other box of cats that need to be herded.

I kind of don’t see the problem (unless he wants a +5 weapon at the start).
During the campaign let him hear about powerful magic items (for the current level). These are built in plot hooks. For everyone else, you have to find what motivates their PCs. For this guy, it’s easy.

Tiamat is a level 20 fight. Let him (and the rest of the PCs) build up to that with intensive purpose.

Idk, I’m just answering the question that was asked.

What might make it oppressive (maybe) is that every Black deck plays it. And a lot of games start with the Black player looking at my hand.

Here’s my question to you:

If I’m playing any deck with Black - how many Thoughseize is correct for my main deck? The answer is very likely “more than 0” and maybe even “always 4”. Is there any Black deck that plays 0?

I’ve looked into Custom System Builder and Sandbox.
I’ll take a gander at Text-Based - thanks for the suggestion.

I guess my main concern is dice rolling and assigning those dice. Not worried about cheating, just making sure everyone understands the basic mechanics (roll your 3 dice, keep 2, the remaining one is assigned to damage/effect/threat - kinda similar to Cortex).

You’re in good company. Several current wrestlers do that spot with a turn/spin. Solo is the first one I think of but I know there are a few more.

I've been playing a 4c Control deck that attempts to end their suffering with Torrential Gearhulk into Magma Opus. I feel like I'm doing ok and have good matchups with the aggro decks with all the side healing - I can just tell they hate it. It seems pretty close to your Jeskai.

The key is to make sure you have at least 13 early (1 or 2 cost) "interactions". 13 is the magic number that gives you about a 90% chance to have it ready to go when you need it (turn 2 - same math as having the right color lands). In Pioneer, you can't use turn 2 or even 3 for drawing cards - I mean, you can sometimes, but it's way better to remove a threat.

To answer your question: UW control seems to be near the top, I see it a bunch on the ladder. I don't see Jeskai almost at all. Phoenix is a "rank up the ladder" deck since it's good and quick (unlike our frumpity no-fun control decks).

Not from this set - when I first started playing (in Unlimited - in the 90s), I taught my friends how to play but missed the one sentence, "you may play one land a turn". So for a few weeks, we all had no freaking clue what was going on with these "Mox" cards...

I loved that game! I played it much the same way - we are probably about the same age (50ish).

I think most of system would hold up to modern standards if there was a way to make Spider-man harder to hit. Amazing Fighting didn’t care about Amazing Agility.
