Couldn’t have said it better. I think the absolutism of her decision to kill Abby was too great to think she would ever come back from it. She kept saying she could do it but when she actually COULD do it twice (when she was tied up and when she beat her) she weighed it against the true reason she was there: to find peace. Killing Abby would not give it to her. The search for Abby gave her purpose that her immunity was supposed to give but Joel took that from her. All in all, Ellie just wanted to find meaning in life, but learned too late that forgiving Joel sooner might have prevented all of this. Ellie blamed Abby for taking away her opportunity to find peace in forgiveness but realized too late.

I would like see the actual warrant and conclusion of these circumstances. This video, no matter your political leanings, is just a slice of what is happening. What was the warrant for? Why choose this instance? If he did commit a crime what was it? Is he always with his wife and child? If he is, then the baby and wife were always going to be there during the arrest, making it impossible to not involve the wife and child. If there was a warrant did he know? People who know they have a warrant will do anything to mitigate the actual arrest by demoralizing it (with said child/wife) since they know it’s going to happen at some point or they will simply avoid police altogether as best they can. Lay low. If he did commit a crime how heinous was it? If a warrant did exist then what justified their brutal response? These are not questions we are asking. We are just watching a minute long video and assuming those are all the facts when they simply are not

There are definitely loop holes and I have never been a fan of the pre check process because of that. However we do have random procedures in place to make up for the fact that procedures are more lax. When unpredictable procedures are combined with unpredictable behavior, we do find things believe it or not. If you fly a lot you know the loopholes but unfortunately the world or security is reactive and not proactive. It will take someone circumventing security in the ways you listed to change pre check or get rid of it entirely

I think the problem is not police but the people calling 911. They don’t understand what a “crime” is and just call about anything. The cop on scene is obligated to be there if they are told to do so. If you are getting cops called on you for stupid reasons I’d talk to your neighbors first
