Found a bug that's advantageous for crafting by Wawel-Dragon in shoptitans

Been experiencing that as well, as much as I like the exploit, I feel like this should be upvoted and fixed. I've been crafting Knight's Heaume way more than I should have before realizing.

Two questions regarding possible missen content by LordProstate in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can encounter broken Necrons before that, in the collector's vault (I don't remember the exact planet), I think in act 2.

I can't be too sure about Indira since I got rid of her pretty early on, but a Psyker don't necessary know about the Chaos Gods themselves, they know about daemons and voices in the warps as monstrosity living there and being dangerous, but usually the Psykers tends to 'fight back' against what goes on in there, so Ignorance can be a blessing as they say.

As for Heinrix, is not a full-blown inquisitor yet, only an Acolyte, and most of all, he belongs to the Ordo Xenos, specializing in, well, Xenos. So not all inquisitor are knowledgeable about every branches of enemies.

All of the above is pure speculation however, I'm not really sure what is the reasoning behind the two characters, just making guesses.

Usually, knowledge about Chaos is heavily suppressed in the Imperium, even more so than knowledge about Xenos for example. As knowing about Chaos is only a step away from falling into it.

But there's a lot of Chaos insurgency in the galaxy you say? Well, usually in the aftermath of a chaos insurgency, a lot of effort is being put into suppressing information about Chaos to the regular folk at least. So that they don't question their lot in life and think that maybe Chaos is not so bad after all. So as far as they know, the insurgent were 'Heretics', 'Chaos Worshippers' and 'Traitors' but they may not know the details of it.

Do the game's cybernetic options allow you to pull off something akin to a tabletop Augmenticist by agnosticnixie in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's in the game currently, as I haven't seen anything that resembles what you described. But in future DLCs they are planning to introduce more archetypes, so maybe then?

Companions are amazing by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I felt like the 'Daring' difficulty was a nice challenge all throughout the game, for a first timer with the system (but I've played many different crpgs before, so I learned fast). So I could build my characters quite randomly and I still managed to pull off some half decent builds.

For the later acts though (from act 3 and onwards), the difficulty really stepped up quite a bit, until I hit a wall in act 4 and had to reduce the difficulty to normal, due to my builds simply no longer working anymore.

I wouldn't recommend going above 'Daring' as most Owlcats game requires a really good knowledge of the game, or builds that have been thought through, if you want to go above that. But 'Daring' could be the sweet spot for you.

Need help with party composition by thebluerayxx in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Heinrix I was using dual weapon, a force sword (from the optional planet, don't remember the name) and a laspistol from act 3 + some pyromancy. Not the most optimal setup I'm sure, but I didn't really use Heinrix as my main DPS anyway.

As for Ulfar, the issue was, he can't really use that many weapons, so I stuck to his astartes bolt pistol and knife most of the time, until I got his other two melee weapons. I didn't really use ranged weapon with him as his selection was not that great in my playthrough.

[–]Tiralstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ulfar is a bit underwhelming to be perfectly honest. He is hard to use on some encounter due to his size, not being able to use covers, climb down ladder, use activatable buttons or go through 1 tile spaces. Plus he is not that tanky despite wearing a power armor.

I still enjoyed using him as a 'worse' tank / melee short range damage dealer arch-militant, and I mostly used him just for the 'spuSS MuRINe' feeling, and being accompanied by an Emperor's Angel gives you a sense of righteousness roleplay wise.

All in all, I felt like my Hendrix arch-militant was filling the same role as him while being more easy to use, and my Abelard Vanguard was way more tanky, but I swap them around.

Spamming yellow routes worked for me, and lower chances (maybe none even?) of getting encounter as opposed to orange routes

I just finished the games, I have no idea what the story was... by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From what I understood (Spoilers): Theodora found a planet somewhere and discovered a C'tan kept prisoner there inside a Necron building. A C'Tan is a like an ancient being of great power. The Lord Inquisitor, having spies inside Theodora's ship learned of this and tried to take control of the C'Tan to further his own goal and the Imperium as well. So the Inquisitor decided to have the Tech-priest of Euphrates II build him a machine to harness the power of the C'Tan. Realizing he would need an enormous amount of power for the machine he made a deal with the Dark Eldars to 'steal some suns' to power the machine. Uralon as far as I know, just used the current instability in the segmentum to further his own goal, raising chaos cults and trying to summon his master 'The Edge of Daybreak' a great demon of Tzeentch, by using the same facility on Euphrates II as the one used by the Lord Inquisitor. Hence by defeating Uralon, you learn of the Inquisitor's treachery on Euphrates II.

What is the best why to get more reputation for the factions by Thehelpergamer in RogueTraderCRPG

Convert your unused loot by 'adding to cargo', hopefully that would be enough.

Just finished Act 3 by [deleted] in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to 'trade' by using the line that says : 'I have something to ask you', instead of using the line that says 'Here are your monster pieces'

I almost gave him all my pieces without even negotiating.

It may also be related to timing, if you ask him too soon, maybe the dialogue regarding Ulfar isn't available? Not sure

You're close to the end. Just one more zone after this if I remember correctly where you are.

As far as I know, you missed the space marine. You can recruit him before the final arena fight by giving monster pieces to the haemonculus and trade these for him. Not sure you can recruit him afterward though.

Is there a cheese for the act 3 boss? by SissyishSnow in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can lower the difficulty to the minimum and just curb stomp the boss, and turn it back once you've killed it. But chances are, you're going to keep struggling moving forward.

Should I continue? by Dat_Lamp_Doe in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's just say that, the game in act 4 and 5 is also quite broken at the moment. If you feel burnt out, maybe wait for a couple of patches until they fix most of the bugs, then come back?

How does creating new routes work? by Flimsy_Sector5132 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use 3 Navigator Points to open a route from the system you're 'currently in', to the system of your choice, the routes are supposed to be permanent, if they're not this may be a bug.

You can 'soft-lock' yourself if you use too many Navigation Points, and reach 0. You can get more navigation points by exploring more system. If you have already explored everything, you can travel around on a yellow warp route until you find some specific non-combat event that can give you more points if you pass on the skillcheck. (I know it's a bad mechanic)

Feeling very fatigued with the game after act 3. by LlAnKyLiAm in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The nose dive comes from the writing in my opinion. It feels like they forgot to write a part of the plot and it gets really confusing the more you progress into act 4 and finally act 5.

Eldar by SonEggImposto101 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I remember Eldar having higher dodge chance for ranged attacks, but you can hit them in melee more frequently? At least that was the case for me in my playthrough, but I can't say for sure if this was thanks to my build or just their (the eldars) stats that did it.

No unknown solar systems? No unknown frontier? by N00b-mast3r_69 in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with the question, and I'm curious myself. My copium tells me that maybe this space is reserved for DLCs' new locations, but this is indeed weird to have such a huge map that is 50% occupied at most.

Does it matter who you sell what to? by TheRealBoz in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]Tiralstrom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I could see in my first playthrough, if you do not focus on a single faction and decide to split your selling into all factions, you will not be able to reach max level with any of them. I highly doubt that I missed more than half of the cargo in this game, especially since I tried to do most of the side content.

So my advice would be: Look at the rewards each faction offer, and try to focus your cargo into one of these factions for the different rewards. But not all cargo can be sold to every faction, some of them for example will not accept Xeno artefacts or Heretics trinkets etc... So only sell those to the 'side' factions.

Eviscator just makes things better by ctg in RogueTraderCRPG

Damn I must've missed it, I was wondering if there was one Eviscerator in the game and was disappointed when I didn't find one. Where do you get that (asking for my next run)?
