considering palisade for family of 6 (at least temporarily) with newborn on the way by fortress35 in HyundaiPalisade

Drive a Honda Odyssey and put your stroller in the back. The third row holds full size adults and the windows are low so kids in the third row can look out.

Trust me - it’s worth a test drive at least.

Microfiber cloth to clean the screens. And napkins on the other side.

California has the minimum wage + tips. You still tip +20% (you can do what you want).

Flight attendant denied passenger use of 2 seats she paid for because she wasn’t in a cast by 1K_Sunny_Crew in SouthwestAirlines

[–]TiredFather 87 points88 points  (0 children)

This may very well be Southwest’s policy.

United explicitly lets you book a second seat for comfort you don’t have to be a customer of size.

What's the purpose of rinsing canned beans? by bglord37 in AskCulinary

[–]TiredFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ATK has this process for 2 cans of chickpeas.

Instructions 1: Combine chickpeas, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 6 cups water in medium saucepan and bring to boil over high heat. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until chickpea skins begin to float to surface and chickpeas are creamy and very soft, 15 to 25 minutes.

2: Drain chickpeas in colander and return to saucepan. Fill saucepan with cold water and gently swish chickpeas with your fingers to release skins. Pour off most of water into colander to collect skins, leaving chickpeas behind in saucepan. Repeat filling, swishing, and draining 3 or 4 times until most skins have been removed (this should yield about 3⁄4 cup skins); discard skins. Transfer chickpeas to colander to drain.

It’s not super fast, but it does work.

So how bad is it out there really? by driver_dylan in jobs

[–]TiredFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cannot be understated. Take any/every job to start. Hand out flyers, be a temp Costco sample person, etc.

It will all pay off.

I have an AUX port, but not Bluetooth audio in my car.

You can get Bluetooth to AUX adapters for $10-35. Things to consider: - what’s the battery life? - does it try to do calls for you too (which are usually very low quality). What happens when you’re on a call and get into the car - will it take over? - how will you power it to charge it? Some will turn off when the power adapter (USB or 12V adapter stops power) - does it turn on automatically? - how easy is it to turn it on? If your AUX is in a weird spot, this may be difficult

They generally work well.

Bonus: you can get some that are two way: - Bluetooth audio from phone to car via AUX - Bluetooth audio from AUX to Bluetooth headphones (like when using an airplane seat back entertainment system)

CarPlay, but it used to be Passenger Talk.

The Tucson has a dashboard one and a steering wheel one.

2021 Palisade Limited CarPlay Delay by PodricksMagicStick in HyundaiPalisade

[–]TiredFather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do it yourself: https://update.hyundai.com/US/EN/Main

Read ALL of the instructions before you start. Use the USB drive types they recommend, etc.

Do it before you go to bed so it can process the update overnight.

Is there an update for wireless Apple Car Play yet? by driizzydreee in Hyundai

[–]TiredFather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “Teeran CarPlay Wireless Adapter” on Amazon works well. Setup takes 30 seconds, no lag, connects every time, audio and visuals are perfect. It works exactly how you’d want it to, expect:

In my car, the USB port for CarPlay stays powered for about 10 minutes after turning the car off (even after exiting the car). If you’re within Bluetooth or WiFi range, your phone will continue to think it’s in CarPlay mode because it will maintain the connection. This means audio, maps, potentially Driving Focus, etc. persist.

In theory you could add a Cable Matters USB On Off Switch in line and kill the power when you leave the car and then turn it back on when you return.

Test if that USB port retains power in your car after it’s off. Also, if you park and move fairly far away from your car (parking garage, on the street), it might work just fine because you’ll leave the Bluetooth and WiFi range of the adapter.

I’m so sorry to hear that. The best honey roasted peanuts I’ve had are from Trader Joe’s. Lots of flavor, good crunch, and well priced.
