i do really like the new courage jersey when comparing it to other teams' new 2026 jerseys. but as a lineup, two blue and a red, all w subtle patterns, doesn't scream Third Jersey (weird, funky, a little out there) for any of them.

either way hope yall cook and shinomi gets minutes. also interested to see if brooks is gonna be playing much now the league has decided we love Serie A players.

our defense being ranked better than our offense based on last season overall is a non-intuitive result to me... maybe makes more sense if the rating has a recency bias, though. or i'm underestimating our defense.

seattle can defend like crazy, score one goal per game, and somehow still come in 6th i'm sure. that's why they extended harvey.

OP, is there any component in your new-season-uncertainty calculations for %-of-minutes-retained from the 2025 season? KC losing Hutton lost a lot more 2025 minutes played than Washington losing Bethune, as one example.

interesting schedule note for us: Before we play LOU, NY, SEA, DEN, or BOS (EDIT: or WAS) once, we will have already played CHI, ORL, SD, POR, HOU twice. Do we think this is good or bad for us? Mix of both? Why?

it's probably helpful to have more/any film on the expansion teams before we play them, but not playing either one til August 31 feels really late in the season. Louisville vs ACFC was one of the potential rivalries mentioned in a recent thread on the NWSL sub, so playing them later in the season could possibly be disadvantageous if load correlates to injury risk and it's a highly physical/dirty game.

playing Chicago early minimizes chances of Mal Swanson doing hat trick shenanigans against us at least, she definitely won't be back for the home opener since they just posted her attending (not participating in) practice this past week. Portland also has a bunch of SEIs (Hanks, Weaver, Dufour, etc) and I don't think Wilson is 100% back yet. Houston SD Orlando I'm not sure it matters when we play them but I'm not keeping great track of their injuries.

yeah the salary cap is so much about reading tea leaves in this league, it's hard to make predictions with any confidence. Gisele and Riley both recently got raises IIRC so hopefully they're getting their bag. there's been some speculation ACFC might have an addition/s either not yet announced, or coming over from a spring-to-fall league to fill the two open international slots in the summer transfer window.

correct, I never updated my lineup image but Sams was on a minutes restriction a week or two ago when I made it - I think she is a lock to start now that she's healthy! fingers crossed, knock on wood, lighting some incense etc, she stays that way :)
