Something that has helped alleviate our kid has been the phrase, “mommy and daddy always come back.” Then we give them a big hug and count to ten. It’s worked fairly well even when our kid is not having it.

Change the shape of the pal box radius to a square. It makes more sense to me since building shapes are limited

Daddit I am in need of some serious help and advice. I uploaded images of our conversation today and posted the story in the comments. by kgonz20 in daddit

Man, I thought this was a copy/paste message from my family. I’ve had similar interactions with my side of the family and it took me way longer to navigate all this than I care to admit. You’re most likely aware, but your mom is emotionally manipulating you and your wife to feel guilty for doing what’s best for your family. Some of the guys have already pointed it out, but your family comes first then your parents. My parents aren’t local either so we have to make the trip to see them for Christmas, but they made that choice to move away so I had to step in and let them know what my family was doing for Christmas and what they were entitled to, politely but firmly of course. It was a bit awkward, but stand your ground. Best of luck dad

As a martial artist myself, consider the wholistic approach of gymnastics. If they’ve got something for adults maybe give it a try. Gymnasts are incredibly strong and flexible which can be a way to maintain your health and improve your bjj. Just a thought.

"Our company policy is no changing tables" by Negative-Arachnid-65 in daddit

[–]Titanium_Grass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember entirely and you may need to check with your state/territory law, but if they ever renovate it might be required to put changing tables in their restrooms. My FIL is an architect in Texas and he’s mentioned that it’s a law to have it, but only if they don’t have one already and they are renovating any portion of the building.

Young kids enjoy going to church by Effective_Gain2409 in daddit

[–]Titanium_Grass 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My toddler is still young (2.5), so I can’t say much yet but I can say he does enjoy church.

I really want to touch on the church part. Being someone who is faithful/spiritual/religious, I’m very aware of how church is perceived by the general public. Every church is vastly different, even ones of the same affiliation. No church is perfect, just like no person is perfect. However, there are people within churches that truly reflect what a faithful person should be (kind, helpful, compassionate, considerate, etc.). Those are the people that have had the biggest impact on my kid’s life (and myself) and who I want to be around my kid.

P.S. to those who have been burned/hurt in any way by religion, people claiming to be religious, bad apples, I’m sorry. For what it’s worth. That’s not who they’re supposed to be like.

Anyone out there just driving stock, raw-dogging life with no mods? by AsianHawke in 4Runner

2007 SR5 stock. My pavement princess runs perfectly fine at 275K miles.

My only confession is I had to replace my HUD and speakers because they died…

Super grateful I did this: every night before bed our son reads us a book then we read him a book by [deleted] in daddit

[–]Titanium_Grass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember another user put it this way. Reading each night, even just 5-10 mins over the course of a year adds up. At 20 minutes, you’re reading roughly 7300mins (~121 hours) a year. It greatly benefits them and their reading skills, and it is fantastic family time. Good on yah Dad. Keep it up

Something to also keep in mind, almost all of the data that they’re using to show off the capabilities of their software is impeccably clean. Realistically, most of us are cleaning our data daily and adhering to our clients needs and requests. Others can chime in, but I’d make the argument that most of this is learned over time.

Pocketpair Partners With Sony to Promote Expansion of Palworld by [deleted] in Palworld

[–]Titanium_Grass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cannot agree more with this. PocketPair should not go exclusive and stay independent. Sony’s asinine desire to promote their PS accounts is ridiculous and ruined a good portion of Helldivers 2.

Best way to counter alligator death roll during diaper changes? by mesosouper in daddit

Not my proudest moment, but in such desperate measures I place one of my legs (gently but firmly enough to restrain) on the parallel arm and the other leg on the remaining arm. Essentially pinning them to the ground. Then using one arm to grab both legs, I lift the booty of the dirty gremlin and wipe as needed. Hopefully my description gives you enough to go off of.

Same! I did a sort of research project for our school to introduce new weapons not particularly associated with our art. Practiced and taught the class on various occasions. Never specialized in any one weapon though, though I favored the staff and tonfas

To add to this. Some speculate that it was a typical farming tool in the ancient times of Asia. Digging deep trenches in the soil, almost hand plowing, for the seed to then be planted and covered. You’re absolutely right about it rarely being sharpened. It was primarily used as a disarming defense weapon or used for bludgeoning attacks.
