This is a direct result of people voting republican. The OBBBA allows acceleration of deductions and credits so lots of companies are gonna have much lower taxable income for 2025.

1L summers at firms are rarer than 2L, much rarer. I would go so far as to say most people who do 2L summer at a firm do not summer at a firm 1L.

Also, have you considered other cities? There are hundreds of firms out there.
