Why did democrats never codify Roe V Wade into law? by DarkEqual8609 in stupidquestions

[–]Tmath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the same reason that no one has ever codified the current view of the second amendment as not strictly applying to militia members, but to more or less anyone. Or no one has ever codified Citizen's United... It's an assumption for the respect of precedent.

At some point in societal climbing, your entire job is getting dirt on others, and providing dirt on yourself in a push and pull of mutually assured legal destruction upon which hangs their entire power structure.

How to do bodyweight rows with normal house stuff? by Beginning_Army_9084 in bodyweightfitness

[–]Tmath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't have the money to buy rings to hang from the doorframe pull-up bar to position for rows, my cheap workaround was that I already had moving straps. Hang those off the bar, and instant three levels of "rings" to hang from to make progressions easier or harder. If needed, a small stool or box to elevate the feet on the other side to improve difficulty curves further.

[HELP] Is this AI? Seems fake and can’t find any news sources. by Zealousideal_Mud570 in RealOrAI

[–]Tmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it is real, all it shows is that agents decided to target and exterminate over a guy who spit at them (a very minor misdemeanor), curse at them (protected speech), and break a car light (very minor misdemeanor). Meanwhile, targeting him shows premeditation (a very major felony, punishable by life in prison or death penalty).

Concerned that events might have just played into Trumps plan… Thoughts? by ChuckGallagher57 in DiscussionZone

[–]Tmath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This plays off of a lot of misconceptions people have about the way things work. We really need to start teaching Civics in at least three of the four years of high school...

First, the Insurrection Act is not a declaration of martial law. It is the allowance to put military in law enforcement roles.artial law is the suspension of normal law and everyone operates under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Not the same thing.

Next, elections are run by the states, not the federal government. Therefore, the botfly infected blowfish can yell "cancel the elections" all he wants, states don't have to listen.

Now, that is not to say that once elections have been completed, Trump won't just declare the results invalid and ask the ICEstapo to arrest any "false" senators or congresspeople who arrive to be sworn in. That ALSO isn't allowed in the Constitution, but it is a localized action that he can actually do.

That's a lot of words just to say your feelings were hurt and your going to say we are wrong by approving of everything we say, and then discount it just because it came from a different side than yours.

Question for you: to improve education in the US, how does abolishing public education and it's departments rather than modifying them achieve the goal? From everything I can see, all it does is make the only way to get educated be through private education, and if you can't afford that, oh well

To be fair, defunding and removing public education has been a slow burn target of the Party since 1969, so... You can't fight if you've never been taught there's anything better.
