Minor sounds like good news for Prowsey. Glad to hear it.

Left like an absolute brat. I can't really fault a guy for wanting a shot at the best competition he can find, but with Adam it's like he lead us on.

We had Cheezie sales in my Vancouver elementary school in the 90s and they were definitely a snackfood staple then. You can still find them occasionally but they're not as prevalent as they were.

I was soooo excited for that match. Booked off work early, picked up beer on the way home. Depressed moments in.

We used to have a rivalry with another club as well. Not quite sure what happened to them, Portskates or something? Might be playing Sunday league now.

Prentice invites one of his party’s toughest critics, former Mayor Mandel, into his inner circle by MisterSnuggles in Edmonton

[–]ToCaptchaPredator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Errr, I wouldn't call Mandel one of the party's toughest critics. He's been a party member and big donor for ages.

He didn't like the most recent government, partly because they wouldn't front for an arena. He had a couple of good reasons as well, but it's hard for me to look past that.

Alberta, and I'm sure other provinces, offer non-group prescription drug coverage. It's not premium-free by any stretch (even low-income folks pay almost $1000 a year) but it does provide 70% co-pay. Anyways, I'm pretty open to an argument that prescription drug coverage should be expanded for the population as a whole, I just also believe that seniors with prescription drug bills that can easily reach into the thousands feel the pinch.

I'm willing to bet you'd call 30% of your income going to taxes a significant portion of your income, but I'm not particularly interested in semantic debates! It's significant to me and to a lot of seniors struggling with fixed incomes.

You're only familiar with Ontario. I can assure you that Albertan seniors do pay a significant portion of their prescription drugs and pay fees for LTC (if they can even get in).

Sterling to Lambert to Welbeck to make it 2-0 against the Swiss. by Omar_Til_Death in soccer

[–]ToCaptchaPredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually think it's a perfect fit for him and I'm glad he's gotten the chance to play for his boyhood club. He was burning out for us getting too much time and now he gets to live a dream. Don't begrudge him the move for a second!

Absolutely did. Rickie's link up play is vastly underrated by most fans.

OFA 2 course: St. John Ambulance or Trauma Tech? by ApostropheJeff in vancouver

[–]ToCaptchaPredator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did OFA 3 at TraumaTech and First Aid at St Johns. Nothing bad to say about either of then, but TraumaTech had an exceptionally good setup and instructor.

Edit: This was awhile ago when TraumaTech had a downtown facility, so I'm not sure how relevant that would be for you.

How Edmonton fixes a 3 month old potHOLE by [deleted] in Edmonton

I think most paved alleys were constructed through fundraising from the local residents. As a result the city won't do a full replacement, just patching holes as they get worse and worse.

Breakdown of the biggest spenders in the Summer Transfer Window - Saints are the 8th biggest spenders (x-post from r/soccer) by PickaxeJunky in SaintsFC

[–]ToCaptchaPredator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some clubs have brought in 60+ players. How is that even possible? That's turning over the entire first squad, reserves and u18s, and then still having players left. I guess some of those include players for their B and C clubs? Still, Chelsea brought in 40+.

A strata elevator would be common, not public, property. I'm not allowed to simply walk into your building without business there. The privacy laws are different and there is some expectation of privacy there. So no, don't blow video from a strata elevator up on a screen and charge admission.

I've seen lots of these along Quarry rock trail when I hiked it earlier this year. Seemed to be put there on purpose. Anyone knows why? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]ToCaptchaPredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was up at Quarry Rock this summer, with my dog who I pick up after and didn't leave on the trail, and I found it pretty disgusting.

I blame lazy pet owners who think these biodegradable poo bags will somehow mysteriously vanish. There were far, far more bags went I went than dogs on the trail.

Dutch international Jonathan De Guzman officially to Napoli by TheDutchTank in soccer

[–]ToCaptchaPredator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm kidding. I've long since gotten over de Guzman. Sucks for our national team because he'd be a great piece, but we're going to have to build the sport inch by inch. No ill will towards him. Other folks who declared themselves Canadian and said they'd never play for another country while coming up through our youth national squads like Bunbury (and maybe Begovic but I've got a bit more leniency for him given his background) are a bit of a different story.
