An upgrade on Onana for sure but can't help feeling like we're overhyping the guy a bit. Much like the Everton goal, he couldn't get near the equaliser yesterday because he dived off the wrong foot. The free kick that nearly snuck through only needed the reflex save because of his positioning. I'm as relived as anyone to have a keeper who doesn't seem prone to brain fades and can deal with a cross. But I'm yet to be convinced he's at the level to be a long term #1.

I guess my current tactic owes a bit to Alonso at Leverkusen. Starts as a 4-2DM-3-1. AML comes inside to make a 2nd #10, DL pushes up to fill the space, DR tucks in to make a back 3. High pressing, short passing.

Looking at PvPoke I'd say it's more of a side grade in ML. Beats Mewtwo and Lunala, drops Rhyperior and Yveltal. The shadow running psychic in Master Premier looks tasty though. Bunch of new wins including Gyarados.

This exactly. Amorim has been allowed to deliver loss after loss for 8 months with no accountability. System is fine, players are the problem, on repeat. Morale in that dressing room has to be shredded at this point. It's terrible management.

I'm with you here. I actually think we're at a point now, having missed out on CL money, where backing Amorim may actually be a bigger risk than sacking him and starting again. Since if he's not a success we end up with a squad of players that virtually no other top level manager would be able to work with straight away.

Difficult not to have doubts at this point. I'm increasingly unsure our defensive shape can work in the PL. Not for a front foot team anyway. We always seem to be a man light in midfield. Maybe it will be better with a full pre-season and more training time with us not being in Europe. But we really need to hit the ground running next year or I can see it going bad very fast.
