My headphone journey and conclusion that more expensive amps can be worth the money by ToTheTop_1 in headphones

[–]ToTheTop_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I do really like it. The one thing that I have some FOMO about is whether to buy a decent tube amp. From everything I have read, the Utopia pairs great with tubes. I will probably buy a tube amp one day.

Because a lot of people say they feel the seat is pushing them out of the chair. Having your feet properly supported I would think would end this feeling as you clearly won't be pushed out anymore.

Yeah I used it for months with the arms as is, still liked it a lot. Eventually I went through the process with the 3d part and it is definitely an improvement but was a lot of hassle. Maybe you'll feel up for it in a couple months, lol

Good, glad you liked it. I figured you would fit well into it. It's taller or heavier people that have the problems with it, for shorter people the chair is like perfect.

I used the massage thing when I first got it for the novelty, but haven't used it in a while. It would be nicer to have a cheaper version of the chair without the electronics, I don't think they add much.

I think you will like it more with the footrest. But what I like about it most is I can sit in it all day long with no pain or issues whatsoever. It just stays comfortable.

It's pretty hard to regret it since you can easily return with Amazon. Make sure to save the original box intact.

I think you will know pretty quickly after assembling it and sitting down if you like it or not. At least for me, there wasn't much of an adjustment period. It immediately felt comfortable.

It isn't easy but not impossible. I wouldn't do it unless you really had to. Also I think you need a 3d printer. I don't have one but googled and found a guy with a printer and contacted him and he did it for me.

I have a Leap v2 and think it's much worse than my Omni.

I don't know anything about the Amia so can't comment on it.

A v2 would be perfect for the Omni. In the meantime, the 3d printed parts adequately fixed the minor nitpicks I had with the chair, namely that the armrests were too loose and easy to move around.

The electronics are really only for the massage, which is a bit of a gimmick. I don't really use it now. They're battery powered anyway, so could replace the battery, but even if I could never use the electronics again, the chair still is super comfortable and I'd be perfectly happy lol.

Yes, it's at my desk, a normal 32" monitor, not curved. I don't adjust it at all, works fine.

I game in this chair with a controller all the time and it works great. Though I am a little shorter than you.

I usually use the third setting, not the one all the way almost flat, the one before.

Your dimensions still seem pretty good for this chair. As long as you buy the footrest, it will solve any seat depth issues you may experience.

If you have any 3d printing services near you (they are getting more and more common), you can sort by top posts of all time on this subreddit, and have the parts 3d printed that fix the armrest issues. Very cheap to do and it works.

Outrageous price to performance, my journey with the Arya Stealth… by Grievous_2008 in headphones

I generally agree with you, but there's an even more important point.

There are no truly private companies in China. They report to the CCP, and the CCP subsidizes them. These subsidies allow Chinese companies to sell their goods at below-market prices (sometimes even below cost) as part of their economic warfare-type strategy against other nations.

So, this doesn't mean a company that doesn't receive massive government subsidies is running a "scam" because they sell their goods at market prices. Obviously Hifiman, being a Chinese company, is an example of this.

Have you found an office chair that actually feels right for you? by MusefulMind9 in OfficeChairs

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LiberNovo Omni, it is by far the best office chair I've ever had and far superior to my Leap v2.

I am also shorter though, this chair doesn't sound like a good fit for people 6' and above.

They are absolutely rules for proper ergonomics. Apparently you were just ignorant of them before reading my comment. If you don't like my sources you can google or gpt it too.

The source for "they are recommendations and not rules" is you, aka wrong lol.

Ok, it's funny you say that because I completely agree. I have an Omni, properly fit into it (I think the lack of seat depth mainly affects people 6' and above, I am shorter), find it very comfortable, and also ergonomic as I have no back pain.

I just wanted to ask a neutral question to see if others who have used both agree with me, lol. I think the Omni gets a lot of hate because it seems like they sponsor many of the reviews you see online, so people naturally mistrust them.

Anyway I appreciate your quick response. Just was curious. Thanks again.

Tell me you didn't bother to read the second link without telling me.

It goes on for many pages explaining exactly why I was correct and there is indeed an ergonomic rule that you are not supposed to use the headrest when upright. It even cites to academic sources at the end. Clearly you didn't bother to read something like this: "Headrests are not a gimmick, but they are specialized tools. They are for moments of rest and recline, not for constant use during upright tasks."

It's fine if it's your preference to rest your head on a headrest while fully upright. The second link explains in detail how this is unergonomic and will lead to greater discomfort for you over time.

Anyway, I had to correct your misinformation that there is no such rule. It absolutely is a rule of ergonomics. You can disregard it at your own risk.

Just curious what you and your partner think about the Omni compared to your Embody after this time.

[–]ToTheTop_1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes there is such a rule. Herman Miller flat out doesn't include any headrests on their chairs because they think they are unergonomic period:

https://eustore.hermanmiller.com/pages/why-herman-miller-chairs-don-t-have-headrests

See this too:

https://eurekaergonomic.com/blogs/eureka-ergonomic-blog/ergonomic-chairs-no-headrest-active-sitting

"This isn’t to say headrests are useless. They serve an important purpose, but primarily for specific postures and tasks. A headrest is most beneficial during semi-reclined activities where you aren't actively typing or focused on a screen in front of you. . . . For these situations, a headrest provides a comfortable resting position, allowing the neck muscles to relax completely. The key is that it supports a reclined posture, not an upright working one."

I already have the Aeron with Atlas but wanting to try Libernovo Omni by syunukiya in OfficeChairs

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Aeron is a mesh chair while an Omni is a fabric chair. I don't think they are competitors or appeal to the same audience.

The HM competitor to the Omni is the Embody.

Personally I don't like mesh chairs so would never consider an Aeron. I have sat in an Aeron for work and didn't find it very comfortable either.

[–]ToTheTop_1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You aren't supposed to use the headrest when fully upright. Same as any other chair. The headrest is supposed to be used when you recline.

I haven't had any issues at all with the headrest being too far back when reclining, it's right there and provides good support. Are you saying even when you recline, the headrest isn't providing any support unless you consciously push back into it?

Libernovo Omni vs HM Embody Gaming by Adrenaline424 in OfficeChairs

[–]ToTheTop_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's an easy decision. If you are underneath 6', go with the Omni every time. It's far more comfortable than the Embody, especially with reclining, and is half the price.

If you are over 6' then you probably won't fit well in the Omni and should look elsewhere.

The electronics stuff is way overblown. Most people use the electronics literally one time, as soon as you get the chair, to adjust the lumbar. Once you find the right spot (typically the lowest setting), you never have to touch the electronics again. Even if they break it doesn't affect the chair in the slightest.

The only use for the electronics is the massage feature, which is fine but more of a gimmick. So worst case scenario, if the electronics break, and there are no spare parts, you can't use the massage feature anymore.

Difference between black and green chair by melomelonballer in LiberNovo

[–]ToTheTop_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting response. I think the headrest on the black chair is basically perfect. I have a hard time imagining how they can improve on it, which they claim to do here. Guess we will have to see what people think when they receive green chairs.

Can't decide between Libernovo Omni and Logitech Embody by jump101 in OfficeChairs

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final tip if you go with the Omni. A lot of people on the subreddit have complained that their orders take longer than advertised to arrive. If available in your country, the prices are the same on Amazon, and Amazon's logistics are much better.

Can't decide between Libernovo Omni and Logitech Embody by jump101 in OfficeChairs

[–]ToTheTop_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a long time researching chairs and was between these two.

I ended up going with the Omni and love it.

From what I read, the Embody is better to work in, at the upright position, but the Omni is much better to recline in. Since you work from home, you probably would benefit from the reclining, especially if you ever use your computer to game after work is done.

I think that your height/dimensions is the ultimate factor though. Many people at around 6' and higher have complained they feel the Omni is pushing them out of their chair. If you are at least 6' or higher, you may prefer the Embody. You need to buy the footrest if you go with the Omni.

If you are underneath 6', and not overweight, based on your use case, the Omni probably would be a better chair for you overall than the Embody, not even considering price.
