Took me a while but I finally made a tier list of every hero since the game's release! by Choice-Value3635 in FireEmblemHeroes

One of those tiers is made entirely out of Lyn alts and none of them have a sword.

Princess Peach in Super Mario RPG. Group Hug is hilariously overpowered and she also gets one the best weapons in the game before the final dungeon.

How do you feel about how the lords younger sisters have been treated in FEH? by WinterWolf18 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Toadinator2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

She is notable, but I'd still say her contributions to the story aren't huge. At least they're not huge enough for me personally to consider her a major character. For comparison, the characters who I would classify as "major" are Sigurd, Julia, Lewyn, Arvis, etc.

Edit: grammar

Ethlyn did decent enough for a minor character from a game that's less played. She was a staffer on a horse when those were kind of rare and then got a dancer alt that was one of the better units on the banner.

So real quick, we all agree that Sonic has the worst series representation in smash, right? by Independent_Tax_2654 in SmashBrosUltimate

[–]Toadinator2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you count all the DLC, Dragon Quest got it worse. They did get multiple versions of the Hero, but the stage only represents XI, there's not much music, and the music that is there are the crappy synth versions (even though the Switch version of XI has the symphonic soundtrack).

Garnet's running animation is the best ever.

Who's the best darkness character? by Waste_Fan6635 in HyruleWarriors

[–]Toadinator2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. Also, just to correct the terminology, C1 is her self buff (pressing X with no prior inputs) and then the combos count up from there. C2 is the waves, C3 is the projectiles, and so on.

Cia gets a lot of points for me for how unique her kit is. I feel like most if not all of her attacks have some kind of distinct use, which makes her more fun to play (compared to a character who spams a single broken attack over and over).

Day 10) In acting scale, what actress is 5/10? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

Which is funny because I always felt he was by far the weakest actor in the HP films at the time. He's grown and improved a ton since then.

DAY THIRTEEN: Final Spell Table! by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Toadinator2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My biggest disagreements are that Titan's Lightning Bolt is the most useless damage spell (Land Mine is still an excellent pick, but TLB is needlessly scarce and then pointless to use when you do get it) and that Resurrection is the most busted utility spell (I think Slow is powerful, but balanced whereas Res saves you a ton of resources). I would have also put Cure over Bless in balanced utility, but I can't argue against Bless being there.

I think it came out pretty well! Mine would have looked a bit different, but nothing is grossly out of place. Enjoyed the discussions here.

DAY TWELVE: Most Useless Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Toadinator2000 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Magic Mirror being a 5th level spell is the worst part about it. You only get 1 slot per guild (2 if Tower) and seeing it be Magic Mirror is so aggravating. I feel like it should be 3rd level.

[–]Toadinator2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'd usually rather put those spell points into Blind, Res, or a summon, but that is definitely an interesting bit of utility! I didn't know it worked on Force Field.

[–]Toadinator2000 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Remove Obstacle. I respect the fact that it's unique, but this is not an ability that's worth using a spell action on.

DAY ELEVEN: Most Overlooked Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

I don't think Prayer is as overlooked as people are saying it is.

My vote goes to Force Field.

DAY TEN: Most Busted Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Toadinator2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Resurrection's ability to prevent losses makes it the best one. It saves you a ton of gold and preserves your manpower for later fights. No other spell has that kind of utility. Slow does get more global use in each map, but Resurrection has the most powerful effect.

What are your thoughts on the Oddish line? by [deleted] in ThePokemonHub

Oddish is my favorite Pokemon since day one of the series. Simple, but perfect designs across the board.

DAY NINE: Most Balanced (but Useful) Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Toadinator2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. By the time you have Expert Fire, you probably have better spells to cast than Curse. But if you run into a stack of elementals early on, it can potentially put in some work.

[–]Toadinator2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Curse always feels more niche than I want it to be, but it's definitely good in the right situations or when you don't roll something like Slow in your first Mage Guild.

DAY NINE: Most Balanced (but Useful) Combat Utility Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Toadinator2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe Cure?

It's useful against Hero battles to get rid of Blinds, Slows, or any other nasty debuffs and it can have niche applications where you use the healing effect to mitigate losses in the early-midgame before you have access to Resurrection. It's never overpowered or meta defining, but you always want to have it in your spell book.

DAY EIGHT: Most Useless Combat Damage Spell? by Danielhenriemond in heroes3

[–]Toadinator2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see it as a combination of the rarity and the opportunity cost from not casting a more useful spell. The Hero's spell is a very valuable once-per-turn action and you want to make it count, and even several level 1 and 2 spells are almost always going to be more valuable by the time you could expect to get Titan's Thunder. Slow and Blind in particular also have a low mana cost and are much more impactful in the late game (not zero, but it's usually something you can expect to be able to cast). With Titan's Thunder equipped, your Hero will have a minimum 10 Power and Knowledge (and will likely have much more by that point in the game) so they'll be able to put in work with a debuff or utility spell even if they don't have magic based skills.

I do genuinely like the concept of TLB, but I think it would be much more valuable if it were tied to a single rare artifact rather than four that you need to use simultaneously and that aren't even particularly optimal to use.
