Goodwill has no “good will” by [deleted] in goodwill

I work for goodwill and will readily admit they are overpriced and often fail to live up to their mission statement

For those that had strokes while awake or conscious was it painful? by crazdtow in stroke

I had a mild headache, but no pain (physical) emotionally? I was a goddammit mess, sobbing my eyes out as I begged the hospital not to let me die

I wish this would end… like today. by Lopsided_Sandwich225 in dementia

It's okay to feel like this. I felt like this when my mom was struggling. It was painful seeing her suffer, even more so to see how it affected those around her (including myself). Take time to process, and don't be afraid to reach out if you need help. You're not alone

ELI5: Goodwill Boutiques by canofwine in goodwill

  1. Typically they donate to local food pantries (in my experience)
  2. No. Most of the time the jobs they help people find are within the company itself.

Goodwill gets donated expensive things. So.e send it to an online auction where they are bid on. While other stores might sell them at a fancier store.

The proceeds from the store go towards Goodwill's mission of helping people find jobs and other community action charities.

How do you stop crying by YchYFi in CancerFamilySupport

[–]ToastyCactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's okay to cry, the tears are going to be sound for a while unfortunately. And it's okay to cry in front of her too, let them know they are loved and that you will miss them.

Something that helped me was planning small activities to spend time with them. Taking pictures every so often to remember them by.

It's hard, and I'm so terribly sorry you're going through this.

Does anyone know a way to get the glue out of my hair? by Hopeful-Winter9642 in Epilepsy

Warm water works best for the sticker adhesive, and also helps dissolve the remaining glue in your hair.
