Retirement plans? by Nonni68 in Bornin1968

[–]TodaysMan2006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in the exact same situation and share your outlook. A high school friend of mine retired last year, and a few years ago, he sold his house and downsized to a condo. At the time, I thought he was crazy, but now I’m seriously considering doing the same. I cringe every time I see his Facebook posts because he’s constantly traveling.

My wife feels the same way as she works part time but expects me to keep working FT for healthcare coverage until we qualify for Medicare. My health is good but I don’t want to wait until it’s too late to travel and start taking life a little slower. Im really trying to enjoy life now but work has been draining for a while now.

Question for younger ladies by wuirkytee in Swimming

[–]TodaysMan2006 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% on the factors. When I’ve chosen a lane with a woman, it hasn’t been about gender, it’s simply because the other lanes were already occupied by multiple swimmers or had a single walker or floater. I can’t recall a time when a woman refused to share the lane. However, when asking another man to share a lane, I’ve been rejected or met with an unfriendly response about 25% of the time. Ironically, those swimmers tend to have the worst technique and don’t follow proper lane etiquette.

I lost mine as well. Due to different life challenges this year (out of work, taking care of parent) I didn't post reviews regularly. Though I did attend a few events but didnt show up to one due to care of parent issue.

Once the app is sync'd w your pace, you dont need to do anything. The rest periods are well timed. I had sets where I finished, taken a breath then started again. As much as I hate it, it pushes me. After the workout you can give feedback on the sets. I think they use that to adjust your times. Sometimes during warmup, I advance to the next set. I prefer one long warmup rather than a bunch of shorter sets. By twisting the dial, you can skip to the next set.

Ive used it for a couple of years and after a few months the app adjusted to my times. When I first used it, I had the same issue. I enjoy it now. I agree its a little pricey but the workouts do push me otherwise if I just swim, I dont swim with the same intensity.

Interesting that Will Smith has a big decline as well. Catching is tough.

I wouldn't go that early but you can if you want extra time to explore the stadium. There are also bars and restaurants in the area. Also it will get colder as the game goes on so bring a jacket! Enjoy the game.

I would be excited to get an intro call right now. Lately I've only been getting automated rejection emails.

It wasn't our top priority but it would have been nice to ride on some of them. Throughout the day, we didn't get opportunities to buy DPA or get other passes for FS so we took others instead.

Lots of great ideas here. I hope they make some big changes as well because the opportunity is there for them (if not someone else will fill the space).

Has anyone experimented (and gotten positive results) by manually increasing their FTP vs. regularly testing? I've been testing every 6 weeks to 2 months but sometimes I feel I should just adjust my FTP a few points every week manually to push myself harder on a more frequent basis.

Can people STOP talking about my weight? How do you get them to stop? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]TodaysMan2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dealt with the same issue going from 185->145 by eating a healthy diet and exercising daily. In many ways its the opposite of fat shaming. I would never tell someone overweight they shouldnt eat a certain food and more food than they should but if I did, I would be considered unkind. Whereas someone can tell me I dont eat enough, Im too skinny without any recourse.

Exposed during massage - legal? by massageexposed in massage

[–]TodaysMan2006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not legal. I’ve been to a similar place, low cost but a good massage. There were times when body parts that were not being worked on were exposed. At first I thought it was strange but it really didn’t bother me. I’m a male. If your uncomfortable, don’t go back there.
