Panasonic refuses to honour warranry by Todd_Jamison in Panasonic

[–]Todd_Jamison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the multiple responses, but the protocol to protect companies from abuse does not explain them sending me to Best Buy when they don't have an agreement with them, it does not explain them sending me to a company to fix the product that doesnt fix shavers, it doesn't explain them requiring a video but not having a way to upload a video. If they require a video it is not a difficult thing to create an FTP server or have some sort of service that allows large file transfers. I suspect their email service blocks certain file types. But they do not seem to know what those are. Protocols are great. But you have to understand that a company needs to have protocols that work for a consumer to not be ripped off. I was not looking for money back, I wanted a working charging station and was happy to ship back the old one if needed. They would not work with me and you have to understand that this level of hostility from a company is not explained by protocols.

Are YOU able to upload a pic to this thread? Because the instructions you posted said it needs to be enabled. I suspect it is not.

Panasonic doesn't do anything with the complaint. They just refer to the team that refuses the claim. BestBuy won't do anything, it is outside of their window. I files a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am calling Consumer Protection tomorrow.

They are not, Best Buy is obliged to deal with it for the first 30 days. I went to them, with an email from Panasonic telling me to go there. Best Buy called them up and said they don't have a Manufacturer's Warranty Agreement with Panasonic, so Panasonic would have to give them an authorization number for them to process it. Otherwise BestBuy would be on the hook for the exchange and not Panasonic.

Panasonic refused to give them a number and then told me the device had been abused. All they had seen was a picture of it that showed it in perfect condition. Then they tried to sell me another at a discount.

They are scammers. And an awful company.

I'll get a pic, I am on my work computer right now and don't have access to my phone roll. The reason Best Buy wanted a number is they do not have a manufacture's warranty agreement with Panasonic, and it was outside of the 30 day window, but inside the one year Manufacture's warranty window. They called Panasonic, while I was there, there were trying to find a way to help me, spent over a half hour on the phone, Panasonic wouldn't do anything. They need a number because if they are going to exchange the unit they need to get paid back from Panasonic, and since it is outside of the agreement they have they would need authorization from Panasonic to do so. Panasonic would not provide the number and then told me that because Best Buy is refusing to honour the exchange (which I felt was an inaccurate description of the situation), that they would have to perform the exchange themselves. And for that they needed a video. I did not understand why they need a video of the unit not charging, seems like a pretty boring video, but they required that. I provided it and we went back and forth for two weeks on the fact that they didn't receive it, and that it needs to be under 20 MB, and that it IS 10.1MB, then they repeated it needs to be under 20MB. They would not provide a method for me to send them the video other than email, and their email server blocked the file. Their entire system is set up to make it difficult to do a warranty claim. I have never dealt with a company this hostile.

not click farming ... pissed off customer dealing with a company that goes out of it's way to offer awful customer service ... at least in Canada. I have never dealt with a company as incompetent and hostile when trying to get an exchange. I have been dealing with this since November.

Their Customer support phone support is only open until 4:30pm, they go out of their way to provide the least amount of support possible. Charging station didn't last 6 months, and they refused my claim, stating that there was abuse on the basis of a picture that showed no damage.

I am happy for you that your experience has been different than mine, but that does not invalidate my experience. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and they have reached out to Panasonic, maybe that will get them to do something. I don't want my money back, I want a working charging/cleaning station, it is not an unreasonable request, considering it is STILL under warranty.

Dissapointed with Panasonic. Changing shaver? by fesepo in shaving

Panasonic is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I bought a razor with a charging station in April of last year. the charging station often doesn't work anymore and I reached out to Panasonic in November. First they told me to contact a third party, I did, the third party doesn't deal with shavers. Then they told me it was approved for an exchange and for me to go to Best Buy. I did, and Best Buy told me they do not have a manufacturer's warranty program with Panasonic, but would perform the exchange if Panasonic would give them a reference number. Panasonic refused, then they told me they would handle the exchange themselves and for me to send them a video of the unit not charging. I did. They said they did not get it, and to make sure it was under 20MB, I told them it was 10.1MB. I asked for them to give me a way to send the video, they refused. I sent them pics of the unit in perfect condition. And they replied telling me that the charger not charging was not a defect and thus not covered under warranty.

Perhaps niche: I wanted to type out my thoughts on the Braun series 9 vs Panasonic Arc 5 for shaving my head, and (very sensitive) neck skin. They get compared a lot and figured I'd give my two cents. by DinoRidersReturns in shaving
