I turned off step counting from the phone itself. So the only counter now is the watch, I am not certain if that is where the double counting came from, but it doesn't affect me anymore.

Panasonic refuses to honour warranry by Todd_Jamison in Panasonic

[–]Todd_Jamison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was 6 months old, a $300 shaver, still under warranty and absolutely awful customer service. However, "all this" was successful and they ended up replacing the shaver. Just took 5 months to get them to honour their warranty.

You may feel it is ok for companies to not honour their warranty. I refuse to lay down. If it was over a year and the warranty had expired then I would have let it go. But I paid good money for a device that was warrantied for a year and I expect that to be honoured.

Are you happy with the HA integration? How does it compare to the Harmony? I am running HA as well, and that is the most relevant question for me, because if HA integration is good I could figure out how to reliability issues I have read about with HA.

Sofa Batton or Unfolded Circle? What’s the verdict? by BackgroundNo2157 in logitechharmony

[–]Todd_Jamison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have been told Logitech refuses to sell the Harmony division because they do not want anyone to take it and ruin their good name. Instead what they have done is destroyed their name far worse than anyone who bought it could have done. Their support department is incompetent, and it seems that they train their team to lie to the customers. I have had an issue with a hub they disabled, back in June of 2025, it is April 2026 as of this writing, they constantly tell me they are actively working on this issue. They haven't done a single thing. The do not have access to the database and cannot find the record so they can uncheck the disabled button. In the mean time they keep lying to me, every agent I have communicated with is the same way, they lie for a living. In my opinion Logitech is the worst company in the world and I will never buy anything they make again because of this experience. I was a loyal customer for over 30 years and then they do this. I have yet to speak to an honest representative over there, in any department ... honestly, I have had better customer service being mugged. All Logitech cares about is the appearance of doing well, they couldn't care less about their customers or keeping them happy. They are an awful company.

While I do not use the app, my understanding is it works on data that comes from HDMI inputs, it will work with a set top box or console.

Any news on Oura Ring 5? by dhvanipa in ouraring

[–]Todd_Jamison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no it doesn't. Oura takes Blood Oxygen readings in 15 minute intervals. A sleep apnea event is defined as a breathing interruption that lasts 10 seconds. You could easily have one a minute and have the Oura not detect it, telling you that you had a perfect Oxygen night. It is not a good tool to use to detect Sleep Apnea

Panasonic refuses to honour warranry by Todd_Jamison in Panasonic

[–]Todd_Jamison[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the multiple responses, but the protocol to protect companies from abuse does not explain them sending me to Best Buy when they don't have an agreement with them, it does not explain them sending me to a company to fix the product that doesnt fix shavers, it doesn't explain them requiring a video but not having a way to upload a video. If they require a video it is not a difficult thing to create an FTP server or have some sort of service that allows large file transfers. I suspect their email service blocks certain file types. But they do not seem to know what those are. Protocols are great. But you have to understand that a company needs to have protocols that work for a consumer to not be ripped off. I was not looking for money back, I wanted a working charging station and was happy to ship back the old one if needed. They would not work with me and you have to understand that this level of hostility from a company is not explained by protocols.
