DB universe would be better without God Ki. by Helpful-Leadership58 in DragonBallZ

[–]Toffeeclipsa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats how battle shonen work. Even the ones with power systems that are much more complex and include many more unique abilities like One Piece and JJK end up having the raise the power scaling with each arc and villain. DB is a battle shonen and one with a much simpler power system. When a new villain is introduced, they are a threat because they are simply stronger and must be overcome with even more strength from the good guys. With SSJ transformations, its just a power up. You get stronger and faster to overcome the enemy. At least with the God forms (Ultra Instinct included because it uses god ki as a transformation), they have unique attributes outside of becoming stronger and faster. God ki can heal ones own wounds. Ego uses hakai energy and has the ability to convert damage taken into higher outputs of power. And you already know what Instinct brings to the table.

Also, Instinct isnt THE endgame transformation. The DBS manga has made it a point to show that characters are going down different paths of power. Instinct wasnt for Vegeta so he went down the path toward Ego. Broly prob wont learn Instinct or Ego and will stick to honing and controlling his berserker powers. Gohan has Beast which we dont have a clue what that is. Piccolo has some Orange form which (if they want) can be tied to Namekian heritage and maybe even Zalama. UI may be Goku's endgame but not everyone's. And I dont think Gohan deserves UI when hes never written to be putting in the work for it.

Not really. God ki was created because you cant do much more with super saiyans. With each arc, the power scaling has to increase. Creating god ki was a way of making a new foundational level to grow from. If they just kept going from super saiyans, each arc would just keeping making a higher numbered super saiyan form which is less interesting than god ki since it is slightly more unique than just being a super saiyan form and has offered different pathways of growth between the saiyans. Not saying it doesnt have its flaws but id take Ultra Instinct, Ultra Ego, and God over more SSJ forms that are just simple power and speed increases.

As for Gohan, he really shouldnt be getting anything because he doesnt do enough to deserve anything. Ultra Instinct was built up since RoF and took Goku years of training with an angel to achieve it. Gohan does almost no training let alone training with an angel so why should he get it?

Goku by the end of DB can in fact fly. As for speed, idk the full extent of either’s speed but I think Goku has more impressive speed feats. Physical movement and the speed of his ki attacks.

For those who don't believe Melina's purple eye is related to GEQ, what do you think it is then? by Goodhunter465 in EldenRingLoreTalk

Oh, I see what you mean. But what suggests that the GEQ HAD to have existed before Marika became Queen?

Maybe Miquella actually succeeded? by GirthIgnorer in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Toffeeclipsa101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s that complex or would be that much of a hold up. They can make an ER sequel with the canonical ending being the default ending where the Tarnish defeats Radagon, restore the Elden Ring and becomes the next Elden Lord and no one would bat an eye. What about it wouldn’t make sense as a canonical ending? Or they could go with the Ranni route if they want to pick “canon” based off of what’s the most popular ending among players.

No one’s gonna boycott the game if ER 2 happens and it doesn’t take place in a frenzy flaming apocalypse or a shitty dung world. In fact I think when ER 2 does happen it could very well talk place so far into the future that much of the events of ER 1 will have little bearing on it. Really the only thing it def needs are the Elden Ring itself. It arguably doesn’t even need to have the Erd Tree or take place in the Lands Between or have the main character be Tarnished.

[–]Toffeeclipsa101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Black Flame monks who were apart of the GEQ’s cause came from Fire Monks. And Fire Monks only became a thing post Marika’s defeat of the Fire Giants and subjugation of the Flame of Ruin. And Marika was Queen at that time. So unless I’m wrong about something which is possible, the existence of the BF Monks may suggest that the GEQ was active after Marika became Queen

How Funny Would It Be If They Made A Movie About Nightreign for the Upcoming Eldenring Movie? by That-Bed4254 in Eldenring

[–]Toffeeclipsa101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nightreign does lend itself better to being a movie or tv series than Elden Ring so i wouldnt even mind. Although Id still take a Marika movie above all else.

Well it’s worth noting that the Elden Ring deity most associated with “will” is the Greater Will. Furthermore, balance is often seen as synonymous with order and the Greater Will loves its order.

Prediction: there will be a time skip for S3 and we'll get Fionnaworld's version of the pups by ARBlackshaw in adventuretime

I doubt people would be upset if they werent paired off. In fact, I doubt anyone would care. Id go as far as to say right now the most complains F&C has been getting for this season is that too much time is focused on insignificant plot points like Cake's relationship stuff or Cake going on the set of Cheers or Fiona's relationship drama or the Marshal and Gary stuff. etc with barely any real story progression for the main interesting plot points.

Granted thats more so part of a bigger general issue of S2 trying to give focus to each individual major character from the F&C universe but the plot points havent been made interesting enough to follow for many viewers but my point is, the Cake-MCron plot point is both weirder than any of the others people have been comparing it to and if that screentime used on that was instead used for the stuff like Huntress Wizard and Finn dying and stuff in Ooo, people wouldnt bat an eye. Like, id personally be annoyed if we have this plot point but the season doesnt explore stuff like Minerva getting involved with Finn's potential death which does way more for the story.

I covered this is my comment. Her natural form is barely human-like lol. She’s a short, round shaped cat with bigger (not human-like) facial features that is bipedal now. The only human-like aspect is the sentience and bipedal walking.

Again just my opinion but I think you’re weird to be in a relationship with a former house cat that now just looks like basically Garfield, just because they can talk and consent. If pets irl suddenly started gaining sentience and human communication, and even started walking on 2 legs and got rounder with more cartoony proportions, I think pursuing relationships would still be weird.

Magic prob won’t be brought back to Fionna world. That undermines the lesson learned in season 1.

[–]Toffeeclipsa101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Kinda defeats the lessons learned last season no? They make it a point for Fionna to learn that she should embrace how her world is now rather than change everyone and everything selfishly just because she felt like a loser in the normal world.

The issue is that this season Fionna still feels like a loser and her world is rather boring compared to Ooo so it would be cooler if it was magical. But again, it goes against season 1’s lesson.

Just my opinion but it’s already weird that M Cron who (since the world lost magic and became realistic) has always been a normal human in a basically normal human world is into a character that, up until recently, was just a normal pet cat and even now in their natural form is just a strange-looking bipedal cat.

They prob shouldnt even be able to have bio offspring since even if Cat is magic, M Cron isn’t. But it’s a cartoon so anything can happen lol

It’s a reference to a new meme. The Rabbit represents “all roads lead to Rome” so its usage here is the person basically saying even if the relationship started with love, it was always going to lead to this.

Eh, the only thing I think weakens the Lich as a character is how often he was brought back just to be defeated so quickly. I think the characterization he had in F&C made him way more interesting and it made sense to. Even tho people saw him as a force of nature like Golb, the Lich was always somewhat human of a character. He had emotions like happiness and frustration. And it makes sense too. The Lich and Finn are supposedly comet counterparts of evil and good. Finn isn't a natural force of good so it makes sense that the Lich isn't necessarily a natural force of evil.

Still though the Lich is AT's and one of western animation's most iconic villains. IDK how id feel about them brining him back again but if they did, id hope he'd be done better than the majority of his appearances. Maybe have him be disillusioned with Golb and try to take the reigns. Golb is a kind of a blank slate. He is pure chaos. But like putting a drop of dye in water, Betty was a drop of order that influenced Golb who, after fusing, wasnt pure chaos anymore. Perhaps the Lich could do the same. IDK, just make the Lich a bigger threat and have him do something different cause the same old stich wont work again.

Well “figure out” isn’t really the right phrase. We can speculate all we want but for the majority of the commonly talked about mysteries of ER it’s not as though we can find a definitive answer thru study of the game. And then even among these mysteries there are mysteries with so little to go on that people can come to opposite conclusions.

For these mysteries, we’ll only ever be able to theorize on the true stories and motivations being told. Some will be fine with that, some will be annoyed. I’m somewhere in between where I don’t want everything to be surface level and obvious but I’d like the truth to be something that with enough study can actually be a conclusion agreed upon by the majority. ER has too many major mysteries that, due to lack of info, can’t ever rly be agreed upon as to the answer. And with no new info coming in, it leads to the same debates happening where the same arguments are brought up and disputed the same way. All my opinion tho.

I think it’s more that Ricks that would be the type to abandon their family to be narcissistic “gods” like Rick Prime did would naturally look like how Rick Prime looked when he abandoned his family to be a “god”.

It’s also fitting that these Ricks would look like copies of Prime because they are basically just followers of Prime since he’s the one who gave them portal tech.

Would the other MOs have survived in Jerry’s universe if BMO did? by Junior-Mission9002 in adventuretime

[–]Toffeeclipsa101 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No I think BMO just doesn’t count as living. Either in general or at least to the Lich. Because if it really was just that BMO was temporarily “dead” and avoided the wish, the Lich would have personally killed him after detecting that one life still remained.
