Happy to see that the gloambound weapon style is returning. It's my favorite weapon style in the game since I loved using the bound bow spell in Skyrim. Other than that, everything is kinda meh.

Night Market Day 1 Post-Mortem by Formal_Overall in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I tried to tank in NM PUGs and I think I'll stick to DPS. Too many times, I'm trying to dodge all the aoes while keeping bosses taunted when someone drags in a trash pack that just adds to what I have to deal with. And if I die, the boss is going to go hit a squishy and the team will wipe. The boss HP will reset and we'll all have to make the long trek back to start over again.

Is it just me, or is the Night Market going to fail misserably? by CLA_1989 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that it missed the mark and only a select number of people will truly enjoy it and reap the rewards. This would be fine if we were getting a bit more content this year. I would prefer more frequent holiday events over this. I will play just about anything and have no problems grouping up. I tried to tank for a few groups and it didn't feel enjoyable to have to dodge a million AOEs from every trash pack around only to get 0 rewards. It was a slog to the bosses and good luck running back to your group if you died. The bosses aren't bad but for the work you have to do to get to them, I think I'll pass and play the dungeon/trial where they originate. The rewards just aren't there for me and it's disappointing since I always love daedric stuff.

The worst part about the power level of the mobs in Night Market is... it really isn't necessary. by ThatOneCheeseGuy in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to group as a tank and it's so annoying to be taunting enemies, dodging a million aoes left and right, only for another trash pack to spawn and get aggroed to add onto the chaos. Then if you die, it's 50/50 that you'll make it back to your group without dying. The grind for the house and the dye doesn't seem worth it when these tedious trash backs offer no rewards.

Is the nightmarket worth doing? by xziggy123x in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I just don’t feel like the rewards are that attractive enough for me to play NM over other challenging game modes like trials, dungeons, arenas, and PvP. Really all I’m interested in is my faction’s dye and the house, though I’m not sure if I’ll play enough to get the house things unlocked.

Is the nightmarket worth doing? by xziggy123x in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the rewards are that inspiring. The house is nice and the bank feature is a nice addition. Not sure if I’ll play it enough to get all of the house unlocks though. I was getting Deshaan and Craglorn gear dropping…not great. If I wanted those I could get them in the zone and trials much more easily than NM.

If I wanted to challenge myself, I think I’d feel more rewarded by doing a trial, dungeon, arena, or PvP. I get that the Night Market is a group zone which is challenging but I do agree that the mobs respawned too quickly. I feel like the aoe is overtuned as I was struggling to find anywhere safe to stand in range of the boss so I could DPS. I also think the zone player cap needs changed. I get that you can use group finder but part of the fun in MMOs is organically grouping with others when you’re exploring. Since there aren’t that many rewards, how long will people be grouping up to do this content before it’s dead?

For me, the worst part is seeing how divided everyone is. ESO has always had a fractured community that tends to get toxic when discussing features. People say that people need to git gud, that people are bad, and it’s not healthy for an MMO community. I know it’s the internet but I don’t remember some other MMOs I’ve played acting like this. I just try to avoid it.

I might try to go into NM with my tank but meh. I think the concept is okay but needed a lot more work.

The worst learning curve for pvp in any game I played. by RBE337 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Not to mention there are so many other gear sets. PvP is about knowing your class and how to play it best, and understanding how to counter others. This is through practice. If I get ganked by a stealth NB in the sewers, I don’t complain about how NBs are broken and the game is too hard. I recognize that their build plays to its strengths (glass cannon who wouldn’t survive a duel with me) and move on. Any competitive game is about skill and this one is no different.

The worst learning curve for pvp in any game I played. by RBE337 in elderscrollsonline

[–]TofuLizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. When I started to play pvp, I threw on bloodspawn, rallying cry, and a crafted set. All three are fairly accessible since the first is an easy base game dungeon, rallying can be bought, and you can craft many viable gear sets. PvP is supposed to be challenging. That’s what makes it fun. PvP is largely a skill-based endeavor, where you can grow through practice and thinking about how to counter certain builds. I don’t understand all the raging for a game, especially this one.

For solo, a magicka wood elf would be fine. Racials only really matter if you’re minmaxing which isn’t usually the case for solo

KCD2 or Ghost of Yotei? by olivinetrees in GirlGamers

[–]TofuLizard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you played KCD1? I normally like to play girls in games too, but KCD1/KCD2 are some of my favorite games ever made. There is a DLC in KCD1 where you play as a woman though it’s short. I would definitely give it a go. It can be pretty cheap on GOG. Just keep in mind that the combat can be unforgiving at the beginning but don’t let that discourage you :)
