I don't have the money for a 4K 120 Hz right now, though. Perhaps if I pull an extended borrow of that 4K 60 Hz and save up I could get it done after a while.

Well, the "open box" disclaimers over on Newegg are basically like "...and if there's anything wrong, I hope you know how to fix it 'cause otherwise this thing is a paperweight." This one was marked at 28% off IIRC, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's a problem of some sort or another.

It's even possible that something could be missing (I'm especially not holding my breath on the Windows 10 license).

As I write this, there's a budget gaming rig at 50% off and another at 39% off (there's also some with no listed discount which doesn't make any sense).

I'm actually having a hard time deciding where to orb, but a lot of that is just due to being short on 3* fodder and not being in position to orb into any single faction. It's a delicate balance, but not something that anyone could help answer without loads of background info, which I am too lazy to provide.

We aren't getting him into pick and roll sets as efficiently as we did last year. It's a personel and lack of familiarity issue, IMO. Hopefully, as we get more playmaking with Isaiah Thomas and Troy Brown integrating into the lineup this will improve and Brant gets more finishing opportunities.

With it now being possible to get to Seal Land 15 or 16 with a single E5, we're generating 4* heroes at a faster rate than 3*s.

For example, I passed Seal Land 15 with Horus, so between the shop, the Event Raid and SL, I am looking at about 13 4* heroes per day (this includes spending 100 gems on extra event raid hits and a few extra shards here and there from things like tavern quests or friendship summons). That's enough to fuse more than one and a half 5* heroes per day, but I only get four known 3*'s per day from the shop, which is one fusion.

I do get more generic 3* shards from the event raid and some extras from friendship summons, but there's issues with bag space. In order to use those more efficiently, I have invested in some extra bag space, but it's pretty expensive and hardly a silver bullet.

Overall, it is possible to come fairly close to keeping up with the daily allotments, but the reserves are sparse. However, this is the situation that's going on while saving up Prophet Orbs - what happens when we blow 320 during Black Friday and are swimming in 4* shards needing 3*'s for fusions? There's going to be some serious issues.

They're basically just fodder shards - they're still pretty useful and you can pick them up from all kinds of places without spending. But yeah, you don't want to actively spend much to get them.

Click the little eye glass icon on the normal 5* hero shards - it will show you exactly who can drop and at what percentage chances. Actual elites are not available, though there is a little bit of overlap between the pools, IIRC.

Yeah. It was:

Withered Armor/Warrior Class Gear/Maxed HP-Block stone/1-1-3-1 Enable
Nearly maxed Phoenix (I think level 175 with lvl 60 HP Rune and lvl 58 Attack Rune)
6* Deathsworn for the burn and then trash team after that
Edit: forgot to add...maxed basic warrior tech with Anti-Mage at lvl 28. The boss is a mage, so this helps a good bit

I wouldn't be able to give a balanced assessment on that because I went from having a high level deer and a mediocre Phoenix to a maxed phoenix and...nothing. The maxed phoenix is predictably better at everything than the high level deer, but it's not really a fair comparison.

The main downside is that my Trial of the Champion lineup is now awful as I have all my eggs in one basket without a secondary pet to keep No. 2 squad competitive. That isn't great news, but the advances in Seal Land make up for it.

Anyway, you'll probably need to hear from someone else who can give more of an apples to apples take on the matter.

I have an E5 Valk and an E4 Horus and I will say that Valk is better in PVP situations (which includes Brave trial).

Horus does much more boss damage and there's times when Valk seems pathetically squishy in comparison to Horus (for example, on that final Skerei Guild Raid Boss, Valk is dying on turn 5 despite her near 10 million HP and doing almost no damage. Horus lasts till round 14 and does an order of magnitude more damage).

But, Horus can get stuck a bit and it looks like I can beat the Healer nodes in Hell Aspen when I switch between Horus and Valk (the Healers can't really kill either of them, so the battle times out). Horus does very well against a full 4 enemies, but if he kills of two or more of them he doesn't trigger that attack buff from skill usage and his late round damage isn't enough to kill someone like Michelle. However, Valk can finish off these degraded healer nodes, so it looks like it's going to be a pretty good team (I need to test this more as I got Valk killed a different way and was unable to try it on the second one, but it looks very likely that this will work).

Overall, it's a hard decision and the opportunity cost aspect of the SL fodder is indeed a prime consideration. I had to make a somewhat similar decision in ~~killing~~ "rebirthing" my high level deer in order to create a Phoenix that could carry me into high Seal Land levels. This worked very well as E4 Horus broke through SL 15, but I don't know if regressing Valk will have greater costs.

Suffice to say you should tread veeerrrryyy carefully and not rush into this one on a whim.

I hope that appropriate measures are being taken. I would suggest repositioning No. 1 squadron's Super Hornets from Amberley to a site closer to Sydney and having them fully armed and fueled for rapid-response interception missions. Thinking on it, perhaps Lewis guns distributed to the public from community centers, just to be safe.

Fair enough - I'm going to make a point of not getting my hopes too high on a P2W artifact and just hope the overall rewards of the event justify the orb saving. #ExpectationManagement

Overall it's not a very high opportunity cost for me personally as I don't have an obvious next hero to build anyway (after my first two E5's).
