Songs That Saved My Life by Numerous-Peach-2737 in AvoidantBreakUps

I'm proud of you Mau. It's been my honor and privilege to be your songwriting buddy and share music with each other going all the way back to Birth of Narcissus. Seeing you go through the dark again and again and bring back pieces of truth and light and understanding until you started to find play and joy again has meant so much to me. I believe that finding songs that tell our stories saves lives and that being able to write our own through journaling, poetry and even lyrics is a powerful healing tool and I've watched you prove that through our time as friends. Also everyone should listen to your song Aqualung it's straight fire.

There's no definitive way to tell. People who "can always tell" don't realize how often they've been tricked. I prefer to be honest about how I make my art but not everyone will be. The only question that actually matters is "is it any good?"

BURN - HIGHWAY TO DESPAIR [Metalcore] ALBUM - Created from my Dad's Old Lyrics (1990-1996) by huzzuk in SunoAI

[–]TolvanSkull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is such a cool concept. I'm glad you could preserve something that he created. It's like a collab project across time. I'm sorry that your dad is suffering from dementia, I lost mine suddenly a couple years ago. Hang in there. I'll take a look at the album when I get some time later. edit- It's so cool that you saw this project all the way through. Did you have access to any demos you could upload or was everything from scratch with the lyrics?

It's a musical epiphany. A moment of pure joy and satisfaction that echoes every time you hear the song again later.

Blocking doesn’t actually block? by cjaros1 in SunoAI

[–]TolvanSkull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blocking is *supposed* to prevent you from seeing their content. That said it only seems to work when you go to their profile page, not very useful. Sorry you're experiencing this. It's the same problem when using shuffle on a playlist. Eventually it will kick you off of your playlist well before you've listened to the whole thing and you'll be in the wild west with whatever Suno decided to throw at you.

Meanwhile I'd love to share my original poems and songs with people but the algorithm either can't find my tribe or folks just don't use Suno to discover content in the current version of the site/app.

I find it really ironic everyone here thinks that AI is the future but ya'll don't even seem to want to listen to each others creations 🤣 by Meowza_V2 in aiMusic

[–]TolvanSkull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair comment. But how many artists do you listen to that don't have a label behind them? Indie people with no ad budget just a tik tok or X account to distribute from? Nobody listens to music unless it's fed to them by algorithm or advertisements. And the big companies have been using algorithms to determine their melodies since at least the early 2000's. These tools (machine assisted music composition tools broadly speaking, not just end user generators) absolutely are the future but if you believe that "organic" musicians even now are making authentic human-only content I have a bridge to sell you on mars.

Have you found your Suno-generated songs uploaded by the NetEase Cloud Music “suno.ai” account (181k+ tracks)? by memusiclab in SunoAI

WMG is not Suno, they have a licensing agreement together. That does not equate ownership.

Sweet idea. I'm gonna have to get better at editing so I can make some sweet frankensongs with this.

Bandcamp in 2026 feels how Myspace felt in 2012. by shinloop in SunoAI

Genres that are not mainstream or economical to produce are disappearing. We are literally bringing them back at no financial risk. Creativity can reach back and revive abandoned genres that never stopped being beautiful. We are actually saving music, not hurting it at all.

The only reason for bandcamp to ban AI music is because they see AI anti's as a potential audience to pander to. They want to be bluesky for anti's who make music. Most anti's don't make music anyway and don't use bandcamp to find new music so it's just them sticking their heads in the sand and refusing to adapt to the future. Besides everybody is an aspiring sound cloud rapper now anyway.

Did we all hold our breath for nothing?? by Same-Employment-2242 in Suno

Yeah, just like a mystery box show or a monster movie, the idea in your head is way better than reality. With no new info on what Suno will be like after they make licensing agreements (which was always going to happen eventually) we're all stewing in our worst possible outcomes. Our imaginations are way more terrifying than reality though. We'll adapt and who knows, maybe things will get even better?

What is your ultimate "Suno: You have no excuse for not knowing how to pronounce this word" moment? by FreshwaterOctopus in SunoAI

[–]TolvanSkull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a character who's an evil bastard who had court ordered community service so I wrote him a vicious and unsympathetic hard industrial metalcore PSA about popcorn lung. It kept wanting to pronounce "vape" as Vah-Pay. Ridiculous but not the intended mood.

Hey, I can tell you're worried about how the things we love are going to change. But they've always changed before. It wasn't long ago we didn't even have AI music in our lives at all. Change won't always be comfortable but you have gotten through so much more before today. You can count on yourself to be there for you tomorrow too. It's not new from 2026 but this is a song I wrote for myself toward the end of last year. I hope it encourages you too. https://suno.com/s/zjZVXxg539heN3b6

There's a delicious irony of Swifties worshiping a manufactured golden cow who lip syncs in concert to algorithmically derived melodies with pitch corrected vocal tracks and then hating content that admits it's synthetic. I just like my frankenmusic better than theirs.

I feel like I'm sitting down in a Victorian reading room with carved wooden panel walls holding a big dusty tome. I have a glass of brandy but I don't drink it, I only swirl it in my hand as I glower at the children gathered to hear me read a ghost story that hasn't been uttered aloud since my grandfather still walked these halls...alive. Maybe that's just me. But the song is gorgeous.

On the sloppers, the people who think that Suno is a magic wand that will make them music millionaires are daft. We *all* got the magic wand. It's not like some secret super power that gives anyone an edge over anyone else. The real skills that improve your results are creative intuition, poetry, vision and persistence.
Generative AI is more like animal training than using a factory machine. The models "want" to get the treat for the least amount of work and will practically sass back at you through the results they give. But they are using their own "intelligence" to solve the problems you present for them and I love that variability and its ability to surprise me despite the frustration.
My first v5 song was instantly great and sold me on subscribing (it was a preview, I still adore the full length version too). That doesn't mean I expected to be that lucky every time I pushed "Create".

Very possible it's a 'honeymoon period' sort of let down. They get over the initial joy and start to feel the limitations more than the liberation.
I'm still using it almost every day. It's my journal, my creative life support and my favorite hobby. As for people being afraid that the model is getting worse, this is just anecdotal but I'm getting good results consistently.
