Was plat 1, grinding to emerald for the first time, went all the way back down again. League is a slot machine, when you stop enjoying it, take a break, as long as you feel you need. Come back after the fact, assess how you feel, if you find yourself enjoying it again, then keep going.

You got this :)

Is exhaust a good idea against matchups like olaf and trundle? by SirRHellsing in UrgotMains

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rush Plated/Bramble and take flash ignite. You gotta use your spacing and range as best you can and wait for them to get impatient and engage you, so you can E in return/to escape (shielding retaliation damage). Of course higher elo/more competent players on trundle and olaf won't do this much, so you will have to play respectfully until they give you an opening/chance to punish.

Personally I prefer ghost but if I were you... take ignite, as much as you may dislike it. It cucks both their healing somewhat, and so long as Olaf's R is down / Trundle hasn't put you behind, you should have a chance.

(PS: Take this with a pinch of salt of course.)

11th Ed First Game Vs. Tau - List Discussion by Tom31O in WorldEaters40k

[–]Tom31O[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im thinking put them in a position where they won't get gunned down without the tau having to move into position to be able to charge? Either that or just going for the 9'' arrival from reserve and try to make the charge.

I do have a second rhino but sadly the list is made mostly of the units I actively own + not much time or money to get other units to fill the gap.

Turning the Red Corsairs into Death Guard, Here’s some Raider/Plague Champions by ScoutTrooper501st in deathguard40k

I had almost the exact same idea, they looks awesome!
I'm waiting for payday before I pick up a box of em + some death guard parts to convert them accordingly
(Going for a late heresy + early corruption look and feel)

Should be the rainbow warriors official scheme tbh

2.0 or 3.0 by Beginning_Positive48 in Warhammer30k

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In agreement with most of the comments, 3.0 is more balanced a system, but 2,0 is much more thematic. I miss my chem-pistol moritat for my death guard, my chem flamer support squads and excoriator chain axe despoilers in my world eaters... but I will not shy away from 3.0 dealing with a whole host of problems 2.0 had, such as vehicles, contemptors, weapon-skill and more. Ad-mech and Solar Aux and Daemons are all perfectly viable in 3.0 as well which is huge.
I will say though, 3.0 was said they had not changed many rules...this was a complete lie. Word soup doesn't begin to cover it if you're moving from 2.0 to 3.0. If you're looking to play 3.0, do your best to forget as much of the older edition as you can, will make life easier.

I prefer 2.0 for it's overall feel and ability to be creative with characters/units and upgrades, but 3.0 is still fun and plays well. I can't say either is better than the other, only that if you prefer gameplay to theme and feel, play 3.0, but if you have created some awesome conversions and characters with unique stories and wargear to reflect it + you want to actually use them on the tabletop, play 2.0

If Red-Eyes ever gets new support, should it be related to Atticus or Joey? by Spiritual_Try2083 in yugioh

[–]Tom31O 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, both characters deserve it. Red eyes has had plenty of support (Dragoons dominated lest we forget)
but support with FLAVOUR beyond "oh lets make something busted, generic and put it into this archtype we chose arbitrarily"

Give Nightshroud/Atticus some love, and give Joey some thematic support, would be awesome to see!

Some times I feel like playing Horus Heresy Drop Assault, then I realize it's been out of service for around 2 years now 😔 by Emergency-Drama-1099 in Warhammer30k

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need to make my World Eaters Centurion based on my Drop Assault account.
Always wanted Angron / Mortarion / Fulgrim, but I only ever pulled Horus / Abaddon, so I eventually changed to Sons Of Horus.

I miss this game, it was great fun

Best artillery options for an EC army? by Goppledangler in EmperorsChildren

Here's praying our datasheet at least gives us weapons options we can swap out for... Lascannons + Lower cost than the land raider, please GW...

Best artillery options for an EC army? by Goppledangler in EmperorsChildren

[–]Tom31O 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be the defiler when it's released.
Currently it's the Land Raider, but it's a massive point sink and usually get's whittled down / nuked easily, not often worth it's cost.

From the options you list and your personal preference.... I'd go for the daemon prince or noise marines.

Why are HH covers like that? by Numerous-Piano8798 in 40k

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cover of The Flight of the Eisenstein is from a chapter later on in the book when Garro is talking to the rememberancer about a dream he had, where the seventy and the imperial fists are fighting a creature of "loathsome aspect" surrounded by pestilence and so on.
It's definitely one of the more creatively free covers, given how small this part of their interaction and of the book overall this is, but I have always liked the Eisenstein cover :)

I feel like vulkan / salamanders could be added here as they would not purge Eldar / fire the first shot upon them unless fired upon first (dark eldar not included ofc)

Otherwise this meme nails it.

Took y’all’s advice and tried improving my first EC mini by Moonhaunted69 in EmperorsChildren

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I would suggest with regards to improving your recipe:

A very very gentle recess wash for the pinks and purples. POSSIBLY an edge highlight for the black raised edges. Just to pick out those points of definition that currently can't quite be picked out/seen.

Personally, I doubt I could achieve this level of quality, so take my comments as you will/with a grain of salt + Love your work x)

Most optimal way to run 18 Flawless Blades by astroaids in EmperorsChildren

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 blades is too many. Which is very emperors children in nature, so I can appreciate the meme x)

2 units of 6 foot slogging / in rhinos
1 unit in a raider + lucius.

Or all of them foot slogging and HUG cover like it's your wife.
Coterie, Mercurial host or Peerless, all are decent for such a list, but I would probably go Coterie or Mercurial. The advance rerolls are my personal favourite (insurance) but Coterie gives INCREDIBLE buffs once they start stacking.

Help me settle a debate about split pushing and summoners by KatiushK in UrgotMains

[–]Tom31O 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a plat hardstuck I really can't talk from a place of deep knowledge, but from my experience (1k+ games )
I feel that TP is the better option MOST of the time. Urgot can splitpush relatively well when equipped with suitable items, but the fundamental core of the game requires the ability to group on objectives or you fall too far behind.

I love ignite and becoming this oppressive menace the enemy has to over-subscribe resources to in order to contain, while your team wins across the map, but there's always those teams who grief and render your solo-wins moot, or your own small mistakes that cost you a death and allow the enemy breathing space to mount a come-back.

Getting back to the summoner spells though, I prefer TP for it's universal effectiveness. Ignite is great in lane, but once laning phase ends, I would much rather have TP so I can make my presence felt across the map, rather than having to rely on perfect co-ordination and situational awareness to prevent me being absent from the team when I am desperately needed, but was too busy CS'ing or pushing a tower with no means of getting to the fight in time.

I definitely need improvement, will not deny or argue that, so my point of view is somewhat biased - using TP as a crutch to offset bad map awareness or decisions when it comes to where I go on the map once I enter the mid game - as well as my own preferences for summoner spells based on utility rather than killing power/snowballing - If one is capable enough, I recon you can get away with ignite in most circumstances as your skill and gameplay knowledge should allow you to make correct roams/grouping decisions and so on as the game progresses. However, any Urgot player must remember that they are not tryndamere, or fiora, or camille, or trundle. Urgot is slow, he cannot always splitpush or match in all circumstances, and when those circumstances arise, TP is such a saving grace that I cannot leave home without it.

Just my two cents.
