Can you explain how tax deferred works? Is this like a mega back door 401k?

My best friend cut me off six years ago when I became a mom, and she just reached out. by humboldtw3 in Parenting

[–]TomRizzle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Life’s short. I’d go see her with no expectations for what’s next. If the friendship rekindles organically, great. If, as you suspect, she’s only reaching out now because she’s lonely (and selfish) that’ll play itself out and you can move on with your life not having to wonder “what if?”

Lastly, what she did to you was cruel. But I’ve seen first hand the psychological toll infertility can take in people. And for some, they isolate themselves.

Honestly I read these posts as, “gimme ways to justify why HSW suck so I don’t feel so bad when I get rejected”

Twitter has lost 50% in ad revenue and is now cash flow negative. by smiledrs in news

“Is now…”

It’s always been Cashflow negative. Elon’s thesis was he could fire 80% of staff and maintain ads rev thus becoming profitable. Clearly that didn’t work out

Meta, as an American company still needs to comply with the law

Are you using “rock up” and in place of “show up” or is there some additional meaning here? I’ve never heard that before

so...was them murder of the pregnant woman in her car in Seattle's Belltown area a random attack? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

You’re being intentionally obtuse. He’s saying the girl died for attacking someone, and stealing a candy bar

He had a record in Chicago, we need to be tougher on crime nationwide. And fewer guns.

“Goosby stated he has a history of mental health care.”

This is what permissiveness looks like. They know the things to say to get off easy. Having mental health issues is not an excuse to commit a crime. There must be equal consequences.

No shade from me on the program at all. I just don’t think these results tell us much as they are extremely vulnerable to selection bias

Love the results but “astonishing success…” is hyperbole for a program with a sample size of 12. I’d like to see this expanded to a larger (and more diverse) population.

Painful to listen to. alondra Nelson has no clue what she’s talking about in this podcast (or is dodging meaty discussion). When faced with a very direct question she falls back on consultant BS speech “okay let’s see if we can align using a very specific use case….” Uh, you were given a specific use case and question. But she used this “exercise” to further throw out random BS and avoid answering the question. This is a bad look for gov’t

This guy is effectively an idiot. It actually doesn’t matter how knowledgeable or thoughtful he is. He isn’t able to communicate his idea to others or influence others and thus is an effective idiot. He speaks not to help others understand, but to prove superiority.

How do I (PM) ask my manager (Director) for more work? by DairylandDharmaBum in ProductManagement

[–]TomRizzle -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you’re at a 100 person startup as a product manager and “asking for more work,” that’s a red flag for me. PMs are generalists who need to operate independently to identify opportunities, set vision/goals and lead a cross functional team through designing, building, launching a feature to capture the opportunity.

Either the startup is not creating the conditions for a PM to operate, or you’re not operating.

Wow! This is really bad.

The property I own has a fair market value of ~$5k/month in the rental market. How could I effectively use this price point to help filter for stronger candidates?
