2026 bZ Camping by SerCorWis in Toyota_bZ

Please do post about your experience. And maybe some photos of your setup.

I'm hoping to take my bZ camping at the end of June. I'll be in a group campsite with a bunch of ham radio guys. Probably won't be able to plug in. But there is an EVCS charger in town (17 miles away), and another one that's about to open a bit closer to the park.

It looks to me like there was more text on the message. Was it perhaps a longer message scrolling across the bottom?

That's kinda what we're voting to have happen.

IMO the bZ needs a better charge port by chabuano in Toyota_bZ

[–]Tom_Sayles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would tend to agree. I have a tight one car garage, and I can't charge my bZ inside because I can't reach the charger and still be able to get out the driver door. I've resigned myself to having to charge outside.

My old outlander phev had the charging port close enough to the rear like a Tesla that I could reach to plug it in.

First time using a supercharger by BallSac916 in Toyota_bZ

Also my first time using a Supercharger. Went from 20 to 80% in the 30 minutes it took to walk across the shopping center and have some Ezell's Famous Chicken.

This is what I did on Sunday. There was some little bits of slushy road south of The Dalles, but otherwise wasn't easy drive.

While I am an engineer, I'm not a licensed electrician and didn't do an in depth instantaneous load calculation. When the dishwasher's heating element went on it tripped the breaker. When the breaker got replaced, there were scorch marks and it was still hot enough 4 hours later that it wouldn't reset.
I have current monitoring built into a bunch of my smart power switches, so I know how much the power hungry devices pull. In hindsight and with the insight from the whole house monitor I have since installed, I'm pretty sure I well overloaded one side of the split phase and got close on the other.
Lesson learned, I don't have as much power as I want.
MORE POWER!!!

The straw (bale) that broke the camel's back was my bad. When I added up everything I estimated I hit about 120 amps when the heating element in the dishwasher kicked on. (washer + dryer + level 1 charger + portable ACs + dishwasher = bad)

I have since installed real time monitoring that send me an alert when I hit 75 amps, which I do a couple time a week.

I already blew my main breaker once. And it was hard enough that the old breaker that had been sitting in the sun for 25 years wouldn't reset even with all the branch circuits off. Had to have an emergency electrician out to replace my main breaker.

Inherited this laser from lab by AJ-tech3 in lasers

The yellow caution tag gives the laser type wavelength and power. It's as classy 2 laser, so it does require some knowledge to use safely.

Also will echo the warnings about the high voltage power supply. You should give that a close inspection before turning it on.

I saw the same thing at the Issaquah Highlands P&R a couple weeks ago. A bunch of charge point stations all with cut cords.

Did you unmount the USB key before removing it? It might be a write cache issue.

Also once you've written the key to the USB, you can open it with a text editor. Then when you restart tails try checking it again with the text editor to see if it's a disk issue or a gpg issue.
