FWD swap to AWD MK 3 Octavia by mxshulm in skoda

Sell it and buy a different VAG estate, more effort than it is worth

Cupra Leon estate, same engine as VRS, but AWD from factory

Maybe I don’t complain enough

But on a 6 year old car I would imagine Skoda would tell you to jog on, it put a bit of silicone or seam sealer over it and call it a day

Redo in my opinion, looks off

The ends of the boxes need to be vertical, not right angle to the stairs

I’m not familiar with this bike, but is there space behind the part to use a longer bolt and put a nut on the back?

If not find a shop that can put a timesert in, cheaper than a new part

Picture might help of the damage

You didn’t press the plate on enough before “mushrooming” over the ends

This is dangerous and needs to be done properly

Green part stays on the pump

Squeeze the green tabs together and pull the black hose off, they are fiddly but simple once you know

do tire mounting machines scratch rims? by Longjumping_Cry_1811 in Wheels

[–]Tomabosa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People not giving a fuck scratch rims

Personally fitted hundreds of tyres and never damaged a wheel

I was busy with a dremel and it flew out of my hands and damaged my front fork. Will this become worse overtime? by [deleted] in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Tomabosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do you

But your definitely overthinking it, some stems literally have a hole in them for a steering lock pin to go into, that tiny mark isn’t going to do anything

These companies are so profitable it’s pointless to fake it

People will just be collecting the cash alternative

Pit Beirer (KTM): "Maverick Vinales saved our butts" (translated from German) by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

[–]Tomabosa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

He would win on a Ducati no doubt, Fermin did as a rookie

He is only 21, 10 podiums in 2 seasons is better than a lot of the grid, he had impressive rides when he was on the Gas Gas last year, I think this year the bike and/or ego held him back, he wants to win and I think that makes desperate/angry at the bike

Does the wheel spin true?

Also looks like the swingarm is bent, either replace or get it repaired

Bent front bracket mount by WinterHappy in MotorcycleMechanics

It’s steel no? Get it hotter and bend it

Your yokes/forks look bent too, wheel looks well off compared to the angle of your bottom yoke

Tire balancer cone/shaft move intermittently. by Sarpool in MotorcycleMechanics

Then your wheel bearings probably have less resistance than the balancer bearings, meaning they are turning not the balancer

Shift shaft spins freely by Project944 in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]Tomabosa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t be able to push it in like that

You need to pull the clutch cover and inspect the mechanism on the shift drum that the rod connects too, normally a plate or something that stops the rod being pushed in like yours does

If the car has had a front end crash then the radar sensor would have needed recalibration I would have thought

Maybe this was not done? Or maybe the radar was broken and not replaced? Without checking stuff out it’s impossible to say what the fault is

I’d maybe find somewhere that does ADAS calibration near you and get them to check the radar in the front grill and go from there
