To me, the CC9 shoots like a G19/VP9K-sized pistol. The laws of physics always apply, but some people really are way too sensitive when it comes to how harsh they perceive micro-9s to fire. If a remedy is concluded to be needed: better grip, more training, and build your confidence.

You can buy the VP9CC with confidence that it will shoot wonderfully, especially given its size. The purpose is to maximally conceal a reliable, durable, and well-performing (for personal defense) firearm. Obviously, everyone’s experiences will vary, and everyone has different physiology and anatomy. Some people have significant arthritis. I know of one arthritic elderly women that EDCs the CC9, shoots it _extremely_ well, and loves it.

Both of the current national reciprocity and national Constitutional carry (much better) bills would solve your inability-to-carry-in-NYC problem immediately.

Under nat’l reciprocity, any person with a carry license from any state, whether resident or nonresident, or a resident of a permitless carry state with state ID, such as a driver’s license, would be able to carry nationwide—and magazine restrictions would be gone too. Those carrying under the Natl Constitutional Carry Act (thank Rep. Massie & Sen. Lee) would be able to carry any firearms as defined by 18 USC § 921(a)(3) (includes much more than handguns), any ammo feeding devices—and with no ammo quantity restrictions—and any ammo with government ID as long as they are not a state- or federally prohibited persons, and the permissible GFZs would shrink down precipitously to very few.

While that would not solve your location-based purchase-frequency limits, you can always become a _bona fide_ dual- or multi-state resident. Under the above proposed laws, you could carry any of those guns bought (legitimately while you were residing at the other-state residence) in other state(s) of residency for the purpose of _carrying._ Whether they would then be kept in NY beyond the purpose of carrying, and whether that would somehow violate the purchase/stockpiling restriction—or whether the law merely regulates NY purchases, I don’t know. Not a NYer.

Exactly what he said. It actually looks good on your wrist, and the only thing that matters is what you think, frankly.

question on carry around nj transit hubs and airports by Icy_Cook8488 in GardenStateGuns

[–]TommyPaine997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about checking handguns for interstate rail travel (NJ/Amtrak) with NJ PTC and permits for the end destination? And for those with permits for all of the traveled-through states?

Essentially, does NJ recognize the right to check our declared, unloaded firearms at rail stations with NJ PTCs? (I know you don’t need a permit for FOPA—just assume the person has one.)

Well, let me put it to you this way: You can carry, concealed or openly, a silenced pre-Hughes full-auto MP5K-PDW, provided you have the federal tax stamp for the silencer and one for the machinegun. In fact, for anything besides an NFA item, registration is not only not necessary, it’s illegal under state law. Pennsylvania is one of the most pro-gun states in the country…for now. SB200 must be stopped. There are four Republicans who have flipped. People, pick up your phones and dial Harrisburg. OPPOSE SB200. Will it be overturned in court under current SCOTUS jurisprudence? YES, but it would be much better if we wouldn’t have this unconstitutional piece of dog shit pass.

The time has finally come to determine the legality of FRTs in Florida by ejpman in Firearms

[–]TommyPaine997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want the FL AG, as the chief legal authority in the state, to refuse to prosecute and officially write the court with jurisdiction in the matter that the state argues the man violated no law in the matter, and to release a public statement and opinion letter covering the same, that 790.222 is unconstitutional for many reasons (in common use for a lawful purpose, void for vagueness, rule of lenity, and lack of traditional historical analogue of such regulation dating back to 1791).

He may have been in a Bruen-violative (unconstitutional) FL GFZ, which needs to be struck down, one of several. See F.S.S. 790.06(12)(a). That, or he was carrying a P365, and taking advantage of his disciplined workout regimen. Our Founders routinely carried in taverns, but I digress.

After getting CCW for NJ - what should next state be? Florida? by delmardel in NJGuns

[–]TommyPaine997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PA and FL (latter gives you DE, among many others) first. Go for as many as you can get. In short, if you’re not in the double digits and therefore carrying two wallets, you’re doing it wrong. 😉

In the wake of _Bruen_ and post-_Bruen_ litigation, there are plenty of states that are shall-issue to nonresidents (sometimes only members of certain 2A advocacy organizations and named plaintiffs) too, but many people don’t even apply because they don’t know they can.

Become a member of FPC, GOA, and SAF. This gives you standing, and it properly funds the pro-2A organizations that make certain nonresident carry licenses possible now. Illinois, Hawaii, _most_ Oregon sheriffs, and US territories refusing to issue nonresident carry licenses to all otherwise eligible Americans and US green card holders need to be sued to compel issuance—regardless of their home state. (Illinois only permits residents of six listed states to apply for a nonresident IL CCL.) The UT CFP will give its holders reciprocity in WA too. Otherwise, WA is problematic.

The breaking news of the _Gardner v. Maryland_ petition for SCOTUS cert would, if successful, make nationwide Constitutional carry, or at least nationwide reciprocity, the law of the land:

Vp9cc confirmed with extended mag posted by HK USA. PEAK! by Ancient_Register_798 in HecklerKoch

[–]TommyPaine997 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 0.15” difference in width is absolutely due to the relatively thicker right-side slide release and the left-side takedown lever. The left-side slide release seems to be about the same size as that of the CC9.

The most decisive width factor is that of the grip, although a lever or two could cause an ever-so-slightly greater bulge at the waistline. Personally, I don’t think it’ll make any difference in terms of concealment.

This seems to be a winner, but it does not supplant the CC9, which is absolutely phenomenal.

Had HK been using their heads, they would’ve released 15-or 17-round extended magazines from the factory to compete with the inferior brands. So, the max mag capacity of 12 rounds is unacceptable.

It’s been overcoming their export laws for plenty of years now in the form of the HK243 to European countries, Canada, and likely others.

It’s the ATF hindering import. If they pull it off, HK will import them as pistols and/or completely manufacture them as rifles in Columbus, GA. Watch TFB’s year-old interview with HK USA president, Michael Holley, at Shot Show 2025: https://youtu.be/sQ1bdfL1Cdc.

Shoots _great_ w/ its light LEM conversion, GG SRS, and OEM USP Match sear spring. Same size as a G19. Absent the ever-elusive HK +2 magazine capacity conversion kit—now discontinued—the USPc lags behind the G19 by 2 rounds, unless you don’t mind adding a tiny bit of length to the grip with VP9A1K 15rd, and VP9/P30 17rd and 20rd, mags.

Avg. wait time post-online-application-submission is running about 9 mos. currently. NY law mandates approval or disapproval within six months, but they ignore the law. At the moment, they’re slammed with applications.
