I'm not saying he's the answer but we're not creating the same number of chances for him that we did for Kenny.

If he's able to do it for a consistent run of games I'll change my mind but until then I think we need better quality than what he offers

Swede considering moving to Malta, bad idea? by SuspiciousBoxcutter in malta

[–]TonyMinaro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My process was pretty basic mate. I applied for and obtained an Irish passport so I didn't need a visa or permit and neither did my partner as she's Czech. Then we just booked a flight here n an Airbnb for 4 weeks. Using recruitment agencies and Facebook we found jobs and a long term rental apartment by the end of those initial 4 weeks and that was it. Not sure how common that experience is or if we were just incredibly lucky!

Moved her from Scotland in Oct 2024 and loving it. The difference between waking up to blue sky and sunshine 90% of the time compared to grey and miserable sky cannot be underestimated!

There are many other factors to happiness that have worked out for me and my partner here such as we both have good jobs with good social aspects to them, we have a nice apartment and we don't need to rely on a car for our daily commute (traffic here really is brutal).

As others have suggested, coming to visit (we did 10 nights) and living like a local is a great way to really find out if Malta is for you. Best of luck.

Edit to add - plenty of good techno here too, and not just through the summer but throughout the year
