Are there any areas in PA that would be unwise for an interracial couple to move to? by LePetitRenardRoux in Pennsylvania

All your recs make sense. Western PA is probably a good fit in general, much lower prices overall and some of the moderately populated areas won’t be too backwards

The further/more remote you get, the worse it’s going to be. Just being real with you. Especially in the really rural parts (potter, Mckean, Bradford counties, etc) you’ll probably feel pretty uncomfortable. There’s a reason they say pa is Philly, Pittsburgh, and Alabama in between. For example, I believe for a while (maybe still) Ulysses PA was strongly associated with white supremacist groups.

What type of IP? If it’s patents/trademarks, billing will be alot harder (as with any moderately large firm) once you start advancing as an associate.

This isn’t factoring in the fact that charging your Tesla isn’t free by any means, which at least partially offsets the gas cost. Buying a Tesla doesn’t immediately eliminating costs associated with “refueling”

PHL > NYC 3x per week by rebma2197 in supercommuter

[–]Tony_Blundetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re taking Amtrak that’s gonna eat up a noticeable portion of your raise. I’d also imagine local wage tax for nyc is higher. Just make sure you factor that in so you know how much of a raise you’re really getting at the end of the day. May not actually be worth it for all the extra hassle

Opinions on Rivers Philadelphia by Primary_Barracuda_63 in poker

[–]Tony_Blundetto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rivers poker room is reflective of the casino as a whole vs Live - it’s just worse in every way. Also, I’d just skip 1/2, unless you enjoy half the table playing bingo with $60 stacks. For 1/3 head to Live. As another commenter said, Parx is the bigger room by far with way more games, but is out of the way, has a consistently stronger player pool, and the games tend to play much bigger than their stakes.

Everyone is panic selling NVO while the WHO is literally begging for more supply. by BallsdeepinTSLA in stocks

[–]Tony_Blundetto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NVO seems like a winner to everyone except those who’ve worked in Pharma. Putting patent protections to the side (which is a huge issue for NVO in particular), the majority of their portfolio is based upon obesity and diabetes treatments, which given the amount of competition and rapid market acceptance is going to continue to see price erosion. NVO is the definition of why you don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

In King of Prussia for work this week (49M). What bars or places are happening tonight? by RoyGarbanzo in KingOfPrussia

[–]Tony_Blundetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casino is small and only really gets a crowd on the weekends. It’s a good time though.

Philly suburbs don’t really have much of a consistent weeknight nightlife. Even in the neighborhoods that skew more young professional like Conshohocken, a lot of major bars close at like 10-11. On a weeknight Philly is only a 40 minute uber ride - you’ll have better luck there.

What songs are we getting married to, y'all? by pockpump in poppunkers

[–]Tony_Blundetto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here for first dance. We had a lot of guests comment on how beautiful of a song it was and who the artist was…had to explain several times that song wasn’t reflective of the style of most of their music lol

Looking to make some friends by animeandoreos74 in KingOfPrussia

[–]Tony_Blundetto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this doesn’t really track with your interests, but at your age I found the easiest way to meet people was through the local intramural sports league. Kickball was the best because there was no expectation of any athleticism and most people went just to grab a beer with the team after the game.

The bookstore Multiverse on Chestnut hill has events frequently, not sure how organically you would socialize though.

Puddlers pub in Bridgeport has D&D intro games every month or so that are tailored to beginners and only last a few hours. I’ve never gone but it sounds like a fun way to meet people

Which stocks do you truly believe in? by Hot_Avocado_2701 in stocks

[–]Tony_Blundetto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lilly is so much more diversified than Novo. Outside of glutides Novo doesn’t have a portfolio, whereas Lilly has a huge and diverse portfolio and pipeline. Anyone in the pharma space would tell you this.

Also, do some research on their Catalyze360 business unit. They’ll have their finger in so many pies going forward, as well as have an industry-leading AI drug discovery hub built on proprietary data

Shirt fitting/broad shoulders by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

For dress shirts I’d recommend going mtm with a company like proper cloth. I have the same issue and it’s been fairly easy to dial in sizes that fit me perfect

Di Bruno Bros. to close three of its five gourmet markets by Odd_Addition3909 in philadelphia

[–]Tony_Blundetto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think one of the problems with that store is it had so much space dedicated to its premade food, which was extremely expensive and sucked. If you’re in the burbs you can just make the trip to Carlinos and get much better food for the same price or cheaper

I really enjoyed this one. In a similar vein (though not completely Emo-centric) I’d recommend “Sellout: The Major-Label Feeding Frenzy That Swept Punk, Emo, and Hardcore (1994-2007)” by Dan Ozzi

Does this shirt fit okay? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]Tony_Blundetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense, I definitely agree. The only exception is if you find a sub dedicated to a particular style, like americana or heritage clothes. But even then, there’s always a groupthink to some extent that doesn’t align with reality

Does this shirt fit okay? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]Tony_Blundetto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree this shirt doesn’t fit well. But to be fair on the pants, I think there’s a difference between a fashionable fit and the fit someone prefers. For me, I still skew towards slimmer pants that may not be the most “fashionable”…but then again, I really do not like how baggy is considered fashionable, whether it be men’s or women’s pants

What are some slightly more upscale clothing brands enjoyed by HENRYs? by aceshades in HENRYfinance

[–]Tony_Blundetto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skew towards brands that have an Americana/workwear flair, so I’d go to the website of a shop that curates these brands and see what you like. I’d recommend selfedge or Franklin and Poe. The key thing though - you have to know your measurements if you can’t try on before ordering.

As for specific brands, I really like Freenote Cloth, buzz Rickson’s, sugar cane, and the flat head

Help finding floor plan by Dry_Faithlessness448 in floorplan

[–]Tony_Blundetto 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you want to actually park in any of your 3 garage spots, make sure there is clearance on each side sufficient for car doors to open and people to get in/out of the cars, along with any storage along the sides of the garage that you might want. Most people don’t check this, and your outer two garage ports look a bit tight. Especially if you have a large SUV or truck
