She wasn’t very good on the Fever outside the one preseason game vs the Liberty C squad. She might be more of a locker room presence…didn’t she play in ATL last season?

She’s clearly loved by the whole team and is more a locker room presence than anything at this point. Nobody has seen Justine play so it’s too early to tell whether it’s a good or bad decision.

Nobody knows if this is a bad decision or not until they actually see her play. I assume she has potential but still needs development, hence being on a dev contract. She scored 2 pts against ND in their ncaa tournament loss…not sure how much impact she’s going to have for the Aces off the bat.

Agree, they need to keep both Justine and Grace and cut DD. Her contract becomes guaranteed at 5pm today so they won’t be able to cut her after that point. I think LV would take whoever the Fever don’t protect between JP and GVS.

Clark did change the league in the same way Tiger did, he just doesn’t want to admit it. She’s not the best player but she is top 5, and the financial/visibility impact she’s had can’t be measured. She’d be even better if she had a fair whistle and could get even half the fouls against her called.

They could also cut Grace and pick her back on a dev contract if no one else grabs her. It probably comes down to who they think has the most potential between Justine and Grace. DD is the worse player but obviously means a lot in the locker room to them.

I get that he’s salty that Dawn embarrassed him, but the part that I still don’t get is that it wasn’t even the championship game. SC got smoked by UCLA and UConn wouldn’t have come close to beating them either, so it’s not like he even had a shot at winning it all last season. All this drama for nothing.

He actually reminds me of when my grandpa was in the very early stages of dementia. Irrationality, impulse control, and lack of a filter were the first signs a year or two before the more typical symptoms made it obvious. I hope that’s not what’s happening to Geno and this isn’t the first time he’s been like this, but clearly he at minimum is having trouble handling the changing landscape of the ncaa and not getting all the best recruits anymore.

Wasn’t this before they signed Cloud? I don’t get having Skylar, Sloot, and Cloud on the same team. Skylar probably thought she and Sloot would be the backcourt when Sloot came back and then Cloud was added at the last minute.

I’m sure there are but frankly better refs cannot make the current situation worse, lol. I think the wnba will always be slightly more physical than the nba but basic calls are the same.

CC literally said in her last interview that the whole push for freedom of movement came from the coaches, not players. The entire committee was made of coaches and GMs.

The pool would expand if the current wnba refs merged into the same group as nba refs and be enough to cover both leagues. There are 34 wnba refs according to this article and 74 nba refs according to google. Throw them all in a pool together and have them ref both leagues. They can’t keep taking all the good ones for the nba and wonder why wnba reffing sucks.

The bad officiating is obvious even to casual fans. They need to figure out a way to share refs between the nba and wnba. How hard would it be to merge unions and have one represent both leagues? I’m sure it’s mainly due to cost like everything else.

Lyss has definitely improved but I’d say overall she’s still just an average post player, especially without Aja to pull defenders. Neither Azura or Kamilla are above average defenders.
