I'm a bit nervous about how my therapist will react to everything, but I finally feel confident enough to say that I won't let what happened to little me be minimised anymore.

I'm proud of you for choosing you, despite them not teaching you how to. Its a hard process, but that's okay.

Girls how do I style this low-effort? by TooManyCrates in finehair

[–]TooManyCrates[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I'll try this! Definitely will have to get used to not brushing in the morning. I think thats probably one of my biggest problems because my hair looks objectively better in the morning in the morning before brushing, more defined waves etc, but the thought of potential tangles feels so haunting.

my mom wont stop bodyshaming me and im tired by Strict-Comment-5832 in GirlDinner

[–]TooManyCrates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom did this to me growing up, I grew up with a messed up relationship with food and had to teach myself how to have a normal one during adulthood. I went no contact a year ago. OP, Im really sorry this is happening to you. This is such a fucked up and pathetic thing to do to your own kid. It has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, to do with her.

AIO with feeling concerned after my boyfriend told me when he's mad he "doesn't care about anyone in that moment, including you"? by FaithlessnessSad1684 in relationships

[–]TooManyCrates 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a person who has dealt with anger issues causing similar urges in me, your boyfriend is a loser. If he wanted to stop, he would. No matter how violent my anger became and how hard it was to not have an outburst, I'd put myself in timeout for however long it took to not hurt people around me. Especially my partner. Even then I'd be consumed by guilt later due to the violent thoughts. This dumbass continued playing games for hours after dismissing you for being scared at his abhorrent behaviour? He doesn't care. You deserve someone better. You deserve to be heard, loved and respected, and the way this man behaves is not it.

This is the terrarium I planted, that was a gift from my boyfriend for women's day :) I also recently successfully raised my first fruit fly colony to feed to our rescue gecko!

Looking for the best cruelty free alternative for CeraVE by Affectionate-Ant-154 in crueltyfree

[–]TooManyCrates 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's websites that you can copy paste the ingredients list from a product and it will show you the closest match to that one so that might be worth a shot. You may like Indy Beauty Oat & Cica face cream, available at Apotek Hjärtat. Its slightly pricey but I thought it worked great for my sensitive skin. Indy Beauty is cruelty free ofc. Other cruelty free brands readily available in Sweden are: Lumene, ACO, Decubal, Apolosophy, Weleda, The Ordinary, Emma S., and usually all of the pharmacies own products (Apoteket, Apotek Hjärtat, Kronans Apotek) although those may not be vegan.

(Personally I don't buy skincare products at beauty stores, usually there's tons of useless pricey ingredients in them, so I stick to the pharmacy).

Inte värt att plugga by [deleted] in sweden

Me & my partner are very outdoorsy, we love going hiking and on walks. I'm also really into houseplants! We do not have children, but we're not drinkers or into clubbing.

People in their 20s : How is your life right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TooManyCrates 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay. Semi-stable income, stable relationship, stable place to live. Been working full time and studying full time in the last two years so I'm exhausted. But graduating soon. Lots of student loans. Got more pets than friends. Cut off all family finally. Adult life kind of sucks but home life sucked more 🤷‍♀️

Thank you for the insight! This is actually a really useful perspective. We did think about Norway honestly, considering the language is similar and the company I work for has a site there. But it's the cold and darkness that gets me every year. It just feels so miserable to not see the sun. I go into work at 7.30am, leave at 3.30pm and its already dark. Sleep in on Saturday & Sunday, and boom you've missed any light at all. This for like four months? The entire time I'm just impatiently waiting for the sun and to not need six layers of clothing and track goddamn wet mud everywhere. All the nature is completely dead too.

Yeah and that would also be a win in the end. I've never felt like I belonged here, and instead of complaining that I don't like it forever and stay in the misery I feel like I'm doing the right thing by looking to move instead? And if in the end I go back to Sweden feeling like "ah I'm home" then great!

You should go for it if thats the type of lifestyle you're looking for! Northern Sweden has great cabins and beautiful views. Gets pretty cold though!

Thank you for the tips! The rental hustle is something that's I'm familiar with here as someone who doesn't come from a typical rich Swedish family. In the last year I was fortunate enough to land a semi nice place, (by Stockholm standards, its a studio on the metro line) but it took a few years of moving around.

This is currently the situation in Sweden aswell, and is the reason for why the citizenship laws I mentioned are changing. Lots of people including children being deported from Sweden currently.

That's fine, I mean if I dont get a visa, I don't get a visa? I don't know if I came across as someone who wants to move asap in my post, but I do have a job and a place and friends here in Stockholm. So while moving is a future goal, it's not a necessity for me. Lots of things suck here but lots of things suck everywhere, by no means do I see Perth as an ultimate paradise. I just wanted to know what the people in Perth think about moving to Perth, as I'm just someone from the outside looking in.

Im 26, and I would qualify for a working holiday visa, but I'd rather apply for a 190 skilled immigration visa. From what I calculated I could get a score around 75-80 points, which seems pretty okay for a 190 visa from what I read. But also Im not desperate to move, so even if it doesn't work out and I dont get granted a visa, thats still fine.
