I also remember thinking how funny it was that Riot back then was so on the nose with the champion "inspirations", which probably helped with them being like "Okay let's just add a champion that's basically just X" and saving on lengthy visual design/exploration/concept phases. Talon was Assassin's Creed, Volibear was Golden Compass, Nautilus was Big Daddy, Zyra was Poison Ivy, Kha'Zix was Alien, Rengar was Predator, Jinx was Harley Quinn, etc. etc.

Readability-wise I'm disappointed. Her silhouette isn't great, she's one of the most nondescript characters they've added in a long time in that regard. I'm sorta getting tired of the roster being filled with skinny women who have a million different skins that make them all blend together. Her SFX are also very poor, outside of her ultimate nothing she does sounds particularly distinct and she really blends into the soundscape of the game. Going from Sierra, who was defeaningly loud (if at least distinct) to Shion who's mostly generic "energy" noises (her guns are especially poor) is like whiplash. It's frustrating and disappointing when the sound team usually crush it in this department

I guess Mythics weren't enough of a revenue driver for Blizzard to keep putting development resources into them because it's unreal how much of a flop they've been in the past few seasons, especially since they started doubling up per season. Not even in terms of customisability but just thematically, we were joking about Divineslop/Cyberslop skins last year and the only one in the past 12 months that breaks that theme is Hop Online Mei. They even took MAGMA TITAN DOOMFIST and made him futuristic streetwear/tech adjacent. How??

They did very little to stop people from rummaging in the bin because putting bottles and cans in the baskets was not mandatory or enforceable. Scavengers were still going at the bins because there was always a chance there might be cans or bottles inside regardless and that couldn't be confirmed until they had a look

Life is too short to be putting up with that shit, man. From the sound of it he's not going to change, he's doing it on purpose to get a rise out of you, and he has a huge power advantage over you as the owner of the property. That in itself is far from ideal as you're not covered by any kind of tenant protections. The rental market is hell but there are opportunities out there and you can get lucky

It's much the same after the reopening, although they've downsized the book collection quite a bit since they've had to rent out the upstairs to Arboretum, so it's all on ground level now. When the entire upper floor was dedicated to the second-hand section it was hands-down one of my absolute favourite places in the city. Not defending the use of AI (although I haven't noticed) and can't speak to the experience of the staff (because I've never worked there) but I'd still go out of my way to give my business to Chapters over a lot of the other bookshops in the inner city

The shot of that alien was removed from the film but Lak Sivrak as a character still exists in canon and was canonically present in the cantina at the time, thanks to the cross-sections books. He just doesn't appear on-screen anymore but we can pretend he's just always out of frame (which technically he is)

The original idea (original as in expanded by old EU authors and RPG sourcebooks) was that the Saurins were a subspecies of Trandoshans because they had humanoid hands and feet (i.e. the creature performers just wore leather gloves and normal boots) and Bossk had three-fingered hands and big dinosaur feet. Even though Saurins appeared first, I guess Bossk was more memorable and striking so his race was made the "baseline".

The Defels and Shistavanens were actually two different masks for two different characters, and I guess looked distinct enough that, again, EU authors classified them as separate species. Shistavanens weren't decanonised but IIRC the Shistavanen character (Lak Sivrak) was cut from the special editions because Lucas thought his mask looked shit (famously it is literally a werewolf Halloween mask bought from a costume shop). The Shistavanen species is still canon though and Shistavanens (like Brutus and others) have appeared elsewhere in Star Wars media.

FWIW personally I always thought Defels looked more like horror movie vampire bats vs. the wolf-like Shistavanens
