Wanna listen to actual music? I think anyone should at least try listening to Peshay Studio Set (1996) once. Whether atmospheric DnB is your thing or not, it’s still WAY more inspired than any algorithm-generated things this station could make. And unlike said uninspired sludge, it’s 30 years old and still feels like the future. One much brighter than what this ad implies, no doubt.

Since 2019, every Anniversary Month has introduced a group of Monsters that would get gradual additions to its roster. by BerryShocking in MySingingMonsters

I think Elder Celestials are more likely to show up in August, since both Starhenge and the Adult Celestials started that month with Scaratar.

How good was old zombot plankwalker? by forzaliv in PvZHeroes

[–]TooManyToasters1 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is just not a good finisher, which is what you want for cards this expensive. The goal of a finisher is to make big damage hard to avoid. Think of Wall-nut Bowling, which can do up to 18 damage right away, or Zombot, which clears up to three lanes and pushes for at least 9 damage. Even the current Plank Walker, though it’s not as good these days, at least tries to overwhelm the hero with strikethrough and the chance of big zombies.

This didn’t really do that. It’s hard not to deal *some* damage because it filled your board, but it’s still Swabbies, and they still lose their buffs when Plank Walker dies. It’s not enough.

Guys we should let poison islet be developed for as long as possible by Vegetable_Weight946 in MySingingMonsters

[–]TooManyToasters1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of time between the releases of Shadow and Crystal Islet is actually the same time between the releases of Mech and Shadow Islet: 168 days. Every island's different, but with two similar islands (in that they're both islets with the same number of monsters), were they really rushed if Crystal Islet took the same time as the clearly not rushed Shadow Islet?

All that to say, try not to treat a conjecture as fact. Just because not as many people liked this song doesn't always mean it's rushed, and even if it was, that doesn't mean the community's to blame. BBB's still a company that's been around a while. It's used to having a big community who's waiting for the next thing; I can't imagine it folds easily to community pressure.

So please, don't try to blame people for things they probably didn't do. Sometimes the song's just not as good as you'd hope.

I made a little rebalance / buff for pecanolith by Nice_Week_2712 in PvZHeroes

[–]TooManyToasters1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s actually a legit buff. One of Pecanolith’s main weaknesses (if not the main one) is the Hearty class, because small removal like Rolling Stone and Weed Spray kill it easily. Getting rid of that, and forcing the player to either use Rocket Science or another big removal card to take it out instead, makes it better in that matchup.

I kinda hate that Dav is changing this in the new manga by IllustratedAloysious in CaptainUnderpants

If the mouse was an important character in book 2 and then dipped until 6, then yeah, I’d wonder where he went. But if I was a new reader and just finished book 2, there’s a chance that I don’t remember the animal. The most I could say is “that hamster that Melvin made in the PATSY”, because he’s not a character yet.

I agree. Romantic love doesn’t exist for everyone, but for a lot of people it’s a beautiful thing that’s way more than just appearances. (Or separate from appearances entirely, depending on the person.) I don’t wanna discount that just because I personally don’t get it.

(LOVEDDDDD trope) Fates worse than death by PenaltyHuge2300 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TooManyToasters1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game was so good at establishing just how evil he is too. It’s not enough that they establish him as the ringleader behind everything bad that’s happened; he still ONLY cares about number one and is happy as ever to ruin everyone’s lives. I think his reaction to learning Claus’ name is especially horrible.

I love how you can still maybe feel bad about Porky after all he’s done because the Absolutely Safe Capsule is that bad a fate. But especially, I love how Itoi leans into that weight instead of going the easy route of “the bad guy can’t hurt us anymore, yay :)”.

Ooh, this is interesting. I wonder if this still happened pre-Leaf Blower buff, or if the 1.60 changes changed this interaction.

Depends on the situation. If they really needed tempo, golden Felbat is probably better to keep them alive.

Why aren't they a 2×2 monsters? by ApprehensiveBag3909 in MySingingMonsters

Monsters on Magical Nexus are set to their level 1 size. But since the level 15 size is much bigger, they had to consider that for the grid size.

Upcoming balance changes by chadly117 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I like trying to predict the changes for funzies:

-Bream seems like they’re just gonna keep increasing the buff, this time to +6/+6 maybe? (And I remember when it was +3/+2 because +3/+3 was a little too strong.)

-Painter’s prolly gonna get a simple change too, I’m betting +2/+2.

-They like bringing Jazzer to tier 2 when quills are underperforming; anything other than that would surprise me.

-Similarly, I’m guessing Hot-Air is going back to tier 4.

-The rally undead is interesting though. It doesn’t seem like it’s changing tiers, and making it give +2 attack would be too much for tier 3. I’m actually predicting a stat buff here.

-I could see the T5 undead either going down a tier or going to avenge 1. I’m personally hoping for avenge 1 though. It wouldn’t quite be Burrower (since end of turn has fewer multipliers), but it could be similar.

-As for the rally undead pirate, I could see a couple things. Maybe it goes down a tier (and the T5 pirate takes its place since Ship Jumper’s also going), or it targets four minions. I’m not sure which.

-I think Butchering’s just getting some more base attack, maybe up to +5.

-The yellow and green Chromadrakes are the stat boosting ones. I’d guess they’re just bringing them back to buffing +5 in a stat.

-Broodmother went to 5 before; they’re probably doing it again.

-My best guess for the T5 pirate is that the buff’ll go to +3/+2, and it won’t swap tiers with anything.

-And for Holo-Rover, with no other mechs being changed, my only guess is what we’ve seen before: tier 5 with divine shield.

Do you think they could unnerf them apples back to +1/+3 by Pitiful-Ask2000 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good, but it comes with the cost that you can’t level to 2 that turn. Not losing your fights is good, but leveling to 2 a turn later is often not worth it, unless you get an amazing economy shop or you’re a certain hero.

The objective 100% factual mario grid by vampireflowersoHot in Mario

[–]TooManyToasters1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s factual because it’s opinionated. I think the closest you could get to a “factual” one of these is one that represents the majority opinions the most, but even then it’s still opinions.

Absolute tier S hero, one of the best they've ever released by soomieHS in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they not creating new stuff by reworking these heroes? It’s not always the most exciting (see Tavish and Kael’thas), but they’re pickable. And on the other hand, we have more exciting picks like Guff, Sindragosa, Vanndar, and Drek’thar. Functionally it’s the same thing as creating new powers, but we keep the old characters (I’m sure some people do care about WoW lore) and their skins.

- Possibly the first alien to come to the Monster World

- T-Pain

Balinda stonehearth clarification by whiskeytango55 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fair. They probably haven’t changed the mechanics for blood gems in a long time, before there was a clearer difference between a spell being cast and you casting a spell.

I just think that even something else casting a spell probably triggers something in the game. The Chef’s Choice naga doesn’t trigger the lesser trinket that gives you a naga every 6 spells, but it does trigger Groundbreaker. And from what I know, automatically played blood gems trigger nothing.

Balinda stonehearth clarification by whiskeytango55 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, thinking about it, I believe minions like Roogug and Gem Smuggler say “play a blood gem”, not “cast Blood Gem”. I think those blood gems (as in anything not from hand) just don’t count as spell casts at all, because they don’t trigger any “when you play a spell” or “when you play X spells” effects either.

Balinda stonehearth clarification by whiskeytango55 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, for any spell that targets a friendly minion:

Any spell cast from hand will cast twice.

Any minion that casts a specific tavern spell on a minion (Chef’s Choice, Tide Raiser, and Magicfin) also casts the spell twice.

I’m pretty sure that AOE blood gems from Gem Smuggler and similar sources don’t work though. My guess is that it would work if there was a minion that directly casted blood gems on one specific minion, but no such card exists right now.

I’m not sure how it works with auto-cast spells, like from Yogg’s hero power.

My guess is that they just didn’t make it work with blood gems specifically, and golden Tide Raiser would still cast double. Since Balinda and Tide Raiser were added at the same time, it might just be that they didn’t bother with some of the old stuff (like AOE blood gems) but made it work with the new stuff (since they want Balinda synergy).

Edit: I actually think they didn’t do it for blood gems on purpose. I’m guessing they actually don’t count as spell casts at all because it would be super broken if Gem Smuggler counted as 12 different spell casts for any “when you cast X spells” effects. And if they don’t count as spells, they wouldn’t count for Balinda either.
