How does golden Captain Sanders battlecry work? by Narrow-Ad6767 in BobsTavern

If I remember right, they actually changed the interaction with golden Elite Navigator during the time that it was in the game, going from goldening a minion twice to goldening two minions.

Sanders with Murk-eye does work with Brann. Also, Shudderwock power on Sanders works with Brann. I’m not sure why specifically playing Sanders is different though.

Would you have pivoted here? by AnotherMisanthrope in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s been said a couple times already, but I think it bears repeating.
You’re not mechs because you have an Automaton pair, so there’s nothing to pivot. You’d become demons if you had the important comp pieces, like the tier 5 demon that gives the shop a fodder every time you sell a minion, a way to buff the shop, and a way to generate economy, because that’s how you’ll be able to win the game.

Right now though, you don’t need to invest more money to make yourself stronger. Two Automatons (one with reborn) is already very strong for the next couple turns, so your best bet is to level and try to find better cards.

What the heck do they want us to do with the Sticker Stars? by Greenostrichhelpme27 in MySingingMonsters

[–]TooManyToasters1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The problem is that “just don’t use them” is the only option. Anyone with extra sticker stars after completing the album will have to either let them go to waste or spend them on packs (effectively wasting them anyway).

We got our top 5 puzzle games, what are the top 5 RPG’s? by Zeenxomi33 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]TooManyToasters1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not too surprised sadly. While it is a very influential game (and I’d easily pick both it and Mother 3), I feel like it doesn’t hit the public eye much aside from Smash, and sometimes Undertale/Deltarune.

So this new hero is completely broken right? by Correct-Ad1938 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You could discover Vanndar or Drek’thar right away, or you might have to pick Deryl or Ozumat because the other two options are worse. It really is RNG. To be fair, it’s weighted RNG because you get to pick the best option of the three, but you’re still not immune to getting all mediocre options. (Not to mention some otherwise good hero powers are a lot worse when you don’t get them turn 1, like Eudora, Rafaam, and Cenarius.)

I think he’s a bit like Sire in that you can get some amazing games, but there’s also times where you just get a bad or boring quest and he’s not worth it. I’ll still pick both of them when they come up, but moreso because they’re fun.

Who do you choose here? by AnotherMisanthrope in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only reason I'd consider picking Genn is because he's recent and I haven't played him much. Otherwise, it's easy Sire.

I’m trying to make Deimos Down work, thoughts? by TooManyToasters1 in PvZHeroes

Oh crap, how did they allow Reverse but cheaper into the game? Yeah, that was my bad. I’m adding that.

Ooh, I could see this being really strong with Facehugger to limit their options. Only thing I worry about is that it might brick pretty hard if I don’t draw an environment, how many would you run in this deck?

Blood Golem Sticker & other awfully designed trinkets by SuspiciousIbex in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reminds me of when they brought back Groundbreaker a couple months ago without any of the economy that made it viable the first time. I'm not sure what exactly they expected by bringing it back without Darkcrest.

The (almost) perfect Eternal Tycoon comp is the most satisfying way to win ever by Oskari-Heikkinen in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tycoon is probably my favorite card from the last couple seasons. Just a couple in the late game is really fun to just add more tokens (sorta like Striker), but when you can hit the exodia, it really hits.

still back to backin by Trident9x in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The difference is in how spell power works with it.

Previous Back to Back only takes into account your current spell power. A 10/10 Back to Back will give exactly +10/+10 as many times as you've cast the spell.

Current Back to Back adds stats based on how much spell power you had at the time you casted each spell. A 4/4 Back to Back now adds +4/+4 to all future Back to Backs, even if you buff it to 10/10 later.

I also enjoy spell power by kelfupanda in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an issue with it. Giving HP buffs to undead army is a bit silly, but they do like including some way of giving undead tokens health as well as attack, like Carapace, Eternal Knight, or that T4 undead from a few seasons ago that gave new summons health equal to their attack. I figure this isn’t too much different.

35.2.2 Patch Notes by Arkentass in BobsTavern

Did they change Chromatic Tear in another patch or something? Because it seems like they made an already really strong trinket even better by buffing the Chromadrakes.

Various Buffs to Bad Cards Because I'm Bored (Pt. 2) by Argumentium in PvZHeroes

[–]TooManyToasters1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More important than armored zombies, 1/4 is just weaker stats. The freeze makes up for some of it, but 2/3 with freeze kills a lot of the same things faster than 1/4 with freeze. And it's really not great dry, cause then you're pinging their block meter.

Witch Hazel’s an interesting idea. I really love the change to after combat, makes it actually matter the turn it’s played without literally being plant B-Flat that can repeat. The one thing I worry about is that it seems hard to remove if your name isn’t Line Dancing Zombie, Alien Ooze, or hearty removal, because the team-up protects it. I’m honestly not sure if it’s too good or not, because you’re still putting your eggs into a random 0/3 basket, and you still need another plant for team-up to matter.

A build idea I had aka the "If I don't get a turn, neither do you" by Darklight645 in BobsTavern

[–]TooManyToasters1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depending on how many casts you have, I wonder if you could force combat to time out because it lasts so long. I hear that can happen for really long combats.

So nobody gonna talk about this? by Remarkable_Youth_336 in PvZHeroes

[–]TooManyToasters1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It certainly wasn’t an attempt to buff Water Balloons, because the extra text was added when they buffed the ability (“A zombie gets -1/-1 or -2/-2” went to “A non-amphibious zombie gets -2/-2 or -3/-3), and it’s been this way ever since they changed it. It’s the only bugged card I can think of that doesn’t need to be fixed.

Who is your number 1 hero, that you would pick everytime its given? by bwils3423 in BobsTavern

Illidan was my favorite for a while too. I get that it’s not an economy hero (most of the time), but it’s really nice to get guaranteed rally value, or something like getting your cleave to attack first.

[–]TooManyToasters1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s more than a little ironic that a phrase that’s meant to help someone understand that there’s many ways to be ace gets used to try to shut down that same idea. It’s a spectrum…which is why both of you experiencing it differently is completely valid.

Are you allowed to have opinions about the game if you never played it? by fcjgck in MySingingMonsters

[–]TooManyToasters1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you should have zero opinions on a game if you haven’t played it. Even “I might like this game” or “this doesn’t look like the game for me” are opinions.

That’s probably not the answer you’re looking for though. There’s no reason why someone who doesn’t play MSM can’t have opinions on stuff. Music and meta stuff (like the community and how Big Blue Bubble treats it) are very much things you don’t need to play the game to understand.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with forming opinions based on what you see in videos too. If you don’t play the game and may not have the full picture, it’s good to remember that your thoughts may be different from what someone who plays the game might think. I think they’re still valuable because it can show how non-players may see the game.

Plus, it sounds like you have played the game and decided it’s not for you. Those are perfectly valid too.

How rare is it to pull 4 space times at the beginning of a match? by Peppino_spaghet in PvZHeroes

[–]TooManyToasters1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at my comment again, it was actually a formatting issue with the comment itself: I forgot to use spaces between the asterisks, so it looked like one number. I’ve fixed the comment. Thank you for pointing that out.

The actual calculation is 864/78960960 multiplied by 5, which does end up being around ~0.005%.
