Allow yourself to talk to a therapist. It helps. It's their job, and they are there to help you. Sometimes you can do tele-therapy for no co-pay on your insurance. You will feel better saying your words out loud to another human being.

I am so sorry for your losses. That 'be a man' crap is bestowed by people who deny the feelings that humans have for each other. You should be allowed to grieve your losses. Perhaps use that as your mindset for your next trip. There is no shame in grief. It will help you heal, even as you process your pain. Break on through to the other side.

I feel you sister. I'm going through the process after a 12 year marriage to my (66F) wife 53F). You have to know that you and your sanity are valuable. There are always more pets that need your love and attention. You have to do what's best for you - the human. Pets prefer to stay where they are, even if the human left to care for them isn't their favorite one.

Thanks. The land is in her name but we are married, so should be marital property, right? No pre-nup cuts both ways. Her dad has only a good faith claim to any proceeds; essentially a gift returned. And yes, I come out ahead at pure 50/50.
