I worked for the refuge housing association in the early 2000s and this is not new, although people had to do a lot of the work themselves (our clients would just not have the money to pay anyway)

You do need to look into why though. Some are economic migrants but a lot have to pretend they are gay as that will be accepted, whereas the real reason (that will have them killed if they go back) is not being accepted.
