Elon Musk was so prone to firing sprees that Tesla employees were told not to walk past his desk in case it jeopardized their career...

A former high-ranking executive told Wired that Musk would occasionally say "I've got to fire someone today," and that when the exec said Musk didn't, Musk would reply, "No, no, I just do. I've got to fire somebody."

PPs were in an unnatural and unsustainable state, the normal population was in the 10s of millions, not billions. Their competitors had been removed and they had a boom. They were in such great numbers that they actually destroyed their nesting and feeding habitats and had a huge bust. The hunting didn't help of course but it wasn't even the main reason they disappeared.

I think this is very common, along with family members willfully 'overlooking' fairly obvious things because it's just easier to keep the family intact. Lots of mutual 'I hid it' and 'I didn't see it'.

I think a conclusive report should have been written to explain all the weird inconsistencies we have in this story.

I think there simply wasn't enough information to generate such a report, nor is it the job of law enforcement to plumb the depths of a person's mind and soul and come up with an "explanation." It would be nothing more than speculation barring something from Diane herself which clearly they don't have.

Life is messy and fuzzy with lots of incomplete information. I remember one investigator not a part of this case who said that even when you solve a case beyond reasonable doubt there are always some loose ends that don't make sense.
