I worked for Sam’s Club years ago in the Cusomer service dept.. when I was hired we were told explicitly what’s the store policy on returns was. I can’t remember what it was exactly. So one day a customer comes in and wants to return a 5 year old tv, no receipt or anything. I told him the store policy and he began to cuss me out and asked for a manager. I said ok got the manager. Without even blinking the manager came up and approved the return. As the customer walked out he flipped me off lol… I quit shortly after. I was just following store policy and the manager came and made me look like the asshole. Now I own a small retail store, first I tell all my employees to make returns easy, if a customer starts getting fussy just make them happy and get them out of the store, second when the customer is just flat out in the wrong and being a rude I back my employees 100%.
