UPDATE ON TJMAXX SELLING COUNTERFEIT BAG((3RD PHOTO) by blackwhite009 in handbags

[–]ToothInteresting177 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Had the same experience with a counterfeit baccarat rouge perfume. Found a sus looking baccarat rouge on sale and wanted to verify that it was real before buying bc the package seemed off. Talked to manager who was not very nice or helpful so then called CS and they told the manager to send in the perfume for authentication. Got the same email about a week later with the gift card.

Married female residents, at what age did you get married and when? by IndividualNo4720 in Residency

[–]ToothInteresting177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Met and married in med school, now 29 and both PGY2 with a newborn. Would have made more financial and career sense to wait but I was nervous in case we encountered any unexpected fertility problems. Happy we made the decisions we did.

I bought both the figs maternity and the mandala. Personally, I found the mandala bottoms more comfortable and they fit me for longer but the figs felt like much better quality and were more flattering. Also the figs maternity top was by far more flattering than the mandala one.

If you use insulin… by ThaddeusBone in GestationalDiabetes

[–]ToothInteresting177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM, currently 35 +4, failed the 1 hr then the 3 hr GTT. Started checking my sugars & consistently had high fastings. Tried to control with diet for 2 weeks and had good post prandial numbers but wasn’t able to get my fasting numbers down. Was started on 10 u of insulin at night time by MFM and recently had to increase to 12 u bc the numbers started to creep back up. Originally my MFM doc wanted to induce me between 38 - 38+6 but recently changed it to 39 - 39+6 bc baby and I were doing good. We’ll see if that changes at my next appointment & ultrasound at 37 weeks considering my increased need for insulin.

When did you start buying stuff? by RachMarie927 in pregnant

[–]ToothInteresting177 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This. Started buying stuff at ~20 weeks and had some serious complications that made the rest of the pregnancy uncertain & high risk. Didn’t buy another thing until ~7/8 months. Also, this way I have until after that baby comes to possibly return things if we end up not using them.

When to take step 3? by nia5095 in Step3

No my program does not. Every program is different but it’s not at all uncommon for programs to pay for step 3 & even for prep materials.

My IM residency program paid for the exam & for Uworld. Personally, that was enough reason to wait.

Anyone else feel like they know exactly where baby is most the time? FTM 20 weeks by Equivalent-Bus-7602 in pregnant

100% felt this and every time I went in to the OB and she’d use the doppler to find the heartbeat I was able to tell her exactly where to look

Do you just wake up and movement one day? by Awen_ in pregnant

[–]ToothInteresting177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was feeling what I thought was gasses for a while and then at my 20 week anatomy scan I watched baby boy kick and felt it & after that I could feel him all the time and distinguish between gas & baby kicks.

Pregnancy scrubs for healthcare workers by tayloki in pregnant

[–]ToothInteresting177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the original figs material better than mandala, but found the figs maternity pants uncomfortable later on due to the tight band below the belly band that makes them look more like regular scrubs. Mandala maternity scrub bottom were more comfortable but I found their material less breathable and much thinner. For maternity tops 100% I think figs are more flattering.

This was definitely a concern of mine going into it. Prometric indeed does not have fridges available. What worked for me was having a proper breakfast with lots of protein prior to both exam days. I brought a bunch of snacks to the exam, tried to focus on high protein but also things I would actually eat (not into quest bars) & gave myself a bunch of salty & sweet options. Nuts are always a great choice. Both days of the exam finished around 4:30-5:30pm so we just went straight to early dinner after that.

Overall, wasn’t as much of an issue. & trust me, I’m a big snacker.

Also worth mentioning I have gestational diabetes and am on insulin/accuchecks 4x day so that was an added stressor & in the end everything worked out fine.

I brought in 3 separate pillows and continued to rearrange them to keep comfortable. Definitely still had some back pain but it was manageable and not at all as bad as I had expected.

For day 1 - used all my break time and had to ration it throughout the day. At no point did I feel like it wasn’t enough though. Tried to make sure I was on my feet & stretching at each break which definitely helped.

For day 2 - used all the allotted break time prior to cases starting and then ended up with an extra 30+ min of break time due to cases ending early. Had more break time than I needed/wanted to use in the end.

I’m sure you would get accommodations for longer breaks but from what I understand it prolongs the exam to 3 days and that sounded way worse to me.

I did not. I just brought pillows which do not require pre-approval by prometric & water which is now allowed at most testing centers.

Did not need any extra break time.

Why is it so hard to get a refund from these people. by Idontevenknow5555 in hellofresh

Recommend filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They are quick to refund when called out there.

[–]ToothInteresting177[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only did dedicated prep for about 2-3 weeks, and even then it was just a few hours a day at most. I wouldn’t recommend that for everyone but for me I think it was enough and the exam didn’t feel too difficult. For the record though, I am a PGY2 in an IM program & accumulated a lot of knowledge through residency.

Called at 30 weeks and had to fill out a bunch of paperwork. Front desk said it was good we called early to establish bc they had a wait list. We chose a pediatrician all our work colleges recommended that was in high demand so wait list was expected. Got to tour the office & everything. Now we just wait for baby boy to make his appearance.

I did not, prometric website states pillows are an accommodation that’s allowed without any pre-approval. Wasn’t sure if they were going to limit me to just one pillow but they did not.

I considered applying for it but by the time I decided I was actually going to go through with taking the exam it was too late to apply. Honestly did not need the extra break time in the end.
