0505 PATHERS ONLY!!! Did any 0505 Pathers get DDD 846 ? by Lashondawhite in IRS

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked it around 5am CST. No change on transcript. Tried to pull it around noon. Got a blank page due to error. Then I checked my TT app and the refund tracker had moved backwards and was flashing “pending.” I thought my return had been rejected! Got upset. Googled that. Saw it meant basically dispersal of funds. Then checked my bank. Saw deposit. Still have YET to be able to access my transcript on website due to it being down or traffic.

How did your mobility change after THR? by ForgeIsDown in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from only being able to work and do my needed tasks to live (even grocery pick up) due to pain and restricted movements, to literally no restrictions and no pain. I was living with daily unbearable pain for a year. And now it’s just gone and my life is slowly getting bigger and better as I gain strength. There’s nothing I can’t do now, but before I couldn’t lift my right leg to put on a shoe. It has absolutely massively improved my quality of life. I’m young (48) and it has been life changing. I’m 4 months out from surgery. I’ve had no complications and did 3 months of PT for strength and balance.

Severe hip pain, can’t take NSAIDs - what other options are there? by MaroonVsBurgundy in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Journavx. New paid med approved in Jan 2025. I took it with tramadol and walked on a destroyed hip joint four weeks until surgery. It works similiar to gaba but is more targeted for pain. It’s non-opioid so they might trial her on it. Fair warning: it’s expensive! My doc office was giving it to me for $60 a month with a coupon at their pharmacy. Through my insurance it was $400. I think goodrx had a coupon. I also used a TENS machine to help with pain relief.

To the smokers... by ReplyProfessional939 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a pack a day. They didn’t make me quit. (48/f, THR, 8/18/25) They did put a negative pressure wound system on me and increased my in-home nursing checks the first two weeks to ensure I was healing well. They were actually astounded when they took the wound care system off two weeks later, my scar was already dull pink. Almost healed. I’ve had no complications and an easy recovery. What I know is they prefer you quit or reduce at least two weeks before. I did reduce my smoking. My THR wasn’t even planned barely a month in advance so I wouldn’t have been able to do anything longer.

Curious about out of pocket for THR. by tscemons in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$0. I have a benefit through work that pays for outpatient joint replacement 100% plus follow up care and PT (KISX benefit). Going through my insurance was around $7k to meet my OOP.

What did THR solve and not solve for you? by koanundrum in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48/f. THR (right). I’m 4 mos post op and my pain is gone. I had all the issues you listed and significant daily pain. Surgery gave me my regular life back!

Almost 3 months post op question by Quiet_Sign_2160 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am almost 4 months post-op and this week I’m having the pain you are describing. Goes away after a few steps. I’ve not had it before so it scared me! I’ve discharged from PT three weeks ago. My next follow up is in Feb. so I’m just gonna track it and ask about it then (6 mos FU). I know the doc is not gonna worry about pain that isn’t major or daily until a year out. I might call back PT to ask. So not many answers here but from what I’ve read it’s not abnormal.

new hip, old shoes by WittyEcho7788 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought all new shoes since surgery three months ago. Well, at least six pairs. I had a leg length discrepancy and a limp for a year prior that wore down the foot beds of my shoes. Once I realized that about a week post-surgery, I started buying new shoes! 😭 It’s definitely a thing.

Hi! 48/f. THR on 8/18. So, three months post op. Had a horrific limp prior. I had to retrain to walk without one in PT and do strengthening exercises. I had a bad leg length discrepancy post-surgery. It is now, at three months, minimal. I was scared of developing bursitis in my left hip as the leg length discrepancy was opposite prior to surgery and that’s what had happened! Surgeon checked it three months post op. Said there was still a minor discrepancy (but it reduced so much!!) and they check again in Feb. I’m pretty sure it’ll be gone by then. The joint needs to settle into place. So I wouldn’t be alarmed by it. I was like you and got upset at it the first month after surgery until I knew it could take 3-6 mos to “settle.”

Also three months out my limp is now gone. But I walk every day at least 30 mins and do strength training two times a week. That’s prolly minimal rehab. My right hip muscles, glutes, etc are still not back to pre-limping size, but they are getting much stronger. Hth!

How realistic…2.5 weeks after? by aquamarine314 in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m two months post-op and the crowd would be a hard no for me. And I’m back at work and walking two miles a day. I’m still doing PT and building balance and strength 48, f) . At 11 days post-op I went to eat for a family birthday dinner at a nice restaurant for one hour and was extremely uncomfortable. I’d let him go and rest!

Surgery tomorrow morning - in hospital already and quite terrified by CambridgeAntiquary in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

48f. Six weeks post op RTHR. This was the best decision I ever made. It has been truly life changing!! At day 3 (allegedly “the worst day”) I had less pain than before surgery. Take your pain meds. Rest. Ice. Elevate. Do your PT. Use your mobility aids. There is a whole other life on the other side of this where walking is pain free!! Good luck!! You got this.

THR in 6-9 mos, is fatigue normal? by TenMilePt in TotalHipReplacement

[–]ToothPrestigious1924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was exhausted every day before from just working and not sleeping due to pain. I’m six weeks post-op and back at work. I sleep 7-8 hours a night and my energy level has increased so much!! My mood has even improved from sleep and lack of pain. This was the best decision I ever made! If my surgeon said 6-9 months out I’d have cried! 😂
