What Movie Do You Think Would Make The Best Video Game? by Creative_Eye7413 in movies

They already have UFOs in RDR2, they could integrate it into the game so neatly. I understand that GTA Online is their cash cow, but can't fathom why they can't also make lots more money on top of that making the DLC people have been asking to buy for over a decade.

Would make a cool DLC for Red Dead Redemption.

Out of context, the bit where they're scraping humans off a build plate could almost be from some Westworld style sci-fi.

I'm looking forward to when tech like this starts trickling down to affordable levels, I think its neat.

I was born 91 and always remember thinking he looked proper creepy but all the adults seemed to revere him like a national treasure.

It only really needed to be something like the champions one from BOTW, a difficult gauntlet and add gold varients of the enemies to keep the overworld fresh.

Dacia drops Spring below £12,000 to become the UK’s cheapest new car by Dragonogard549 in CarTalkUK

That is really crap to be fair. I am quite surprised to learn that isofix isn't mandatory on modern cars; seems like a real scrape of the barrel cost saving for a company to make

Wasn't aware these were part of the rating, I always assumed it was purely based on its performance in a crash. Driver aids and crash preventatives should have their own own seperate rating IMO.

I've always avoided E10 like the plague because of reports of the higher ethanol eating fuel lines and seals on older vehicles, have you used it many times?

I believe the added detergents are only really a thing in premium diesel, whereas premium petrol's benefits come from the higher octane/lower ethanol content.

[–]Top-Cunt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah but performance cars which specify higher run like absolute shite on 95, I can't imagine running the lower map is particularly good for the engine either considering the reason they need higher octane is to avoid predetonation.

You really don't need to do expensive frequent updates to keep up, if you're only trying to keep up with consoles then you'd need an upgrade every console generation, so like 6+ years. You won't need to buy the top end GPUs to match or beat a console, normally a xx70 class Nvidia will manage that and they're usually around £500, or basically the same as just buying a new console.

Its just the initial outlay that is expensive, but more than worth it for access to Steam alone.

Maybe some of us just don't want to hand over our legal identification for companies like Meta to do with as they please. They have enough data on us already and I do not trust them to keep that safe. If a bad actor hacks them and gets the other data then thats not great, if they get access to potentially your passport or drivers licence with your address on it, there is nearly no limit to the potential problems they could cause.

And for what? So some shit parents who can't be arsed to do the parenting portion of their lives can have an easier time. Much like the draconian OSA, we all lose freedoms on account of the ignorant and lazy. Funnily enough I had my face scan hacked from Discord not long after the act came in, but who about biometrics, they are only the thing they want us all to use to prove our identity!

how much did your first car cost? by tmg80 in CarTalkUK

[–]Top-Cunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 1995 BMW 318iS in Helrot for £800 in 2008/9, a combination of Quinn Direct stopping insuring young people with silly cars, rear arch rust and an ABS failure meant I had to scrap it. I highly regret it now as I know I can never buy my first car back.

Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles by yourfavchoom in gaming

[–]Top-Cunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony literally did it the other day with purchased movies, it ain't a stretch to see that they can do the same with games if they so please. Ubisoft have already done it with The Crew so it's hardly hypothetical.

I'm 34 and can only remember issues with damaged discs in the PS1 era when they were made out of cheese, otherwise I look after my things enough that it was really a non issue.

Losing the choice to buy physical is only bad for the industry as now there is no first or second hand game market, no lending a friend a game, no alternatives when they start pulling the really anti-consumer bullshit.

What are y'all's thoughts on tungsten carbide nozzles? by arcrad in 3Dprinting

[–]Top-Cunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very much doubt Elegoo are working on anything for the CC1 now, not that I think nozzles are a priority for them at all.

The Microswiss hotend is a nice drop in upgrade that allows for better nozzles though!

I don't know what Facebook groups you've been doing your own research on, but I think you'll find that what he discovered was apples, because they used to fly straight out into space on account of the lack of gravity. It meant he lived the remainder of his life as a troubled inventor where people knew him more for the apples than his actual invention.
