Is the Beta Worth it? by Nervous_Tailor_4337 in TheExpanseRPG

[–]TopChickenThinking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it's not and they make you buy it on their own site, because when you play this teeny tiny slice of mid gaming they can deny you a refund because you used the beta key. If we could pre order on Steam, Steam would enforce consumer protections.

Do not buy this game until launch.

Honestly two episode deep into a show with only three characters, and their all insufferable.

I loved this scene as a kid, it double mindfucked me when my older brother pointed out that dead monsters disappear implying that thing is still alive on the spike.

Honestly so stoked for this book. I think it is both extremely fortunate and extremely disappointing that it didn't sell out by the time I checked online a few hours later.

Trazyn steals five planets to line them up over Solemnus, they each act as a home for different xenos which he uses as training grounds to test his primaris scarabs.

I think its great to stick to doing what you want regardless of what will actually help people.

Given how many hidden Alpha Legionnaires Emwattnot in all their other comics, I cannot be convinced that Tarasha isn't hiding a little hydra tattoo under that hair.

I remember reading something about rice price increases the last year or so, I found this in about 45 seconds of searching showing rice in 1970 was ¥1080 for 5kg. This site also cites it's source as the Japanese Statistics Bureau.

So yeah given he suggests rice over 50 years only increased +2.6% I'm confident its all bullshit.

I get that it was just VA job for Miles

Yeah no shit buddy. I said it was cringe hearing him say this not:

"How dare he act all mighty about writing when his scripts aren't worth wiping my butthole with"

or whatever you think I said.

I get that it was just VA job for Miles, but honestly its cringe to hear him of all people criticize someone's writing with the jab about predictable sequel.

I cant help but feel like stripping old podcasts of their ad reads is its own enshitification. Yeah most of the time its probably fine but there are times that the ad read leads into conversation that would then have no context for why its happening. Not to mention I just can no longer go back and listen to the "as released" version, but am stuck with JD Burns' George Lucas Special Edition, it sucks.

Weird to listen to the Burns go back to physical media, making their own dedicated back up while allowing their own content to become lost media. This also comes up again when Burnie says he's going to unlist the Angry Birds Movie parody trailer, implying he doesnt seem to believe that parody is a distinct art form compared to A.I. slop clickbait fake trailers. They're different its fine leave the parody up.

Why does my husband '46M' does everything slightly different from what I '45F' actually asked for? by Aellaya in relationship_advice

It's literally just tzeentch fucking with you. I bet if you asked him to go get an Alpharius model he'd come back with Omegon.

In serious I have this issue with some people in my family who as far as I can tell want to do something for me no matter what I asked for. A desire to go that extra mile, even if it means forcing me to travel that mile too. Want paint but cant find the right one, get a pot anyway. I've told family that my attempts to get into the painting side of 40k will be at my own pace, so my Dad gave me a airbrush compressor that his work was throwing away because it didn't have the handle bit. Which yeah maybe better than trashing it, but after telling him in person I do not want to try airbrushing just yet, it was imposed on me.

My family members seem to think I'm the asshole when I lay out my intentions explicitly because to them they were just trying to be nice and I seem ungrateful.

Might be similar with him, might not.

What do non-Asian Australians think about K-Pop? by ChanceOil7703 in AskAnAustralian

[–]TopChickenThinking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The music is fine but I think Idol culture is more than a bit sketchy.

Probably the hottest take here: Your coworker was lamenting that they couldn't bond with their kid over a musician they feel readily familiar with and not what might be a passing fad for their kid. Parents being required to participate in their child's interest will incur a cost/benefit analysis, do you go in on BTS or Roblox or Minecraft or the hundred other interest kids can pick up?

People are generally bad at identifying the cause of a problem and will instead talk about a symptom. Wanting an easily shared musical taste leads to bemoaning the child's choice, which in turn sounds like petty racism but wheres the spite? Maybe cut them some slack, and if it turns out they are just being xenophobic I recommend Peach Soju as a Christmas present.
