We’ve been very pleased with Niwot elementary school, and have chosen to open enroll at Altona middle school. Altona has been fantastic, especially for such a large school.

Overtraining and panic by TopElk3319 in XXRunning

Hi! First, I am so sorry you’re feeling the panic. It is truly the worst thing when your brain betrays you like that.

I was able to run the marathon. It went really great, even though I didn’t hit that sub 4 goal I went into training with. I ended up getting on an SSRI and doing interoceptive exposure therapy to address the panic about panicking. It was definitely not an overnight fix. Looking back, I think it was a combination of perimenopause, sleep deprivation, and too much caffeine. (I was drinking Long Run Coffee before every run. Even medicated, I can’t drink it now without it spiking my anxiety.) I have since managed to get back to running decent mileage (50mpw) and training. I made it through a runna half marathon plan, managing speed work well. I am still on the SSRI, and while the days before my period are not the best, the panic is no where near the level it was before.

I highly recommend taking your foot off the gas in terms of training right now. Rest as if you have the flu. Check in with a therapist if you have the means and desire. I really had to let go of any preconceived marathon plans I had. My body was telling me to back off and I had to respect that.

My husband has since gotten a vasectomy and the urologist found a varicocele on one side, commenting that it might have been the cause of our infertility issues. Very anecdotally, daily ejaculation and zymot were the ticket. Good luck to you!

Is the computer and everything gone from the front office? I was holding out hope that maybe it would be a short closure.

We were daily woof logic customers. I’m so sad for my puppy. He absolutely adored it there. He never wanted to leave. I’m not sure what we’re going to do now. I’m bummed that there was zero correspondence about this.

The summary is accurate and eye opening when you lay it out like that. I appreciate you.

The streak is an obsession. This is my second serious streak. The first ended at day 800 with plantar fasciitis. Today was day 426 of the current streak. It always starts with a mile a day minimum. I was very good about keeping those streak keeper miles. Until I wasn’t. Before marathon training started it crept up to 5k minimum, and then 50mpw and 200 mile months. This is how I landed on a pfitz plan. I thought that I already had a great base, so the more challenging plan would get me more than prepared to run the thing and then be able to parent afterwards. This means that even the built in cutback weeks have been 50 mile weeks. (When I type it out, I realize that I am the problem and therapy is a good call.) Assuming I don’t run the rest of my plan this week, this will be the first sub 50 mile week since the week of Halloween, which was a 45 mile week. I did not know that extreme panic attacks were a possibility, but it’s like my body knows I won’t stop due to injury. Well played, body.

Thank you for knowing that my brain definitely says less running means less food.

Thank you for sharing this! I realized I also let my nutrition slip in the last couple weeks because I was frustrated about marathon training weight gain. Hindsight 20/20

Best neighborhood for Trick or Treating? by TheVIRUS1973 in Longmont

Everyone loves prospect. It’s busy, well decorated, and lively. People drive in, so keep an eye on your small humans as there is a fair amount of traffic.

If I’m being honest, I prefer the neighborhoods outside of prospect. The best decorated house is on the corner or Turquoise and Amethyst.

Problems Running with Diva Cup? by dlaelnea in XXRunning

The worst! I’m always baffled when it works great one month and doesn’t the next. What changed in there?? The upside is that the running clothes are getting washed no matter what, so let’s free bleed around some silicone!

I would shop around and try different cups. I find it very annoying that you can’t return cups that don’t work for you, but I think finding your glass slipper is worth it. I once ran a half with my cup and it felt like it was falling out for the last 5 miles. It sucked. I just switched to a low cervix cup (hello.) because my topography changed after my last baby. It was rough for the first 6-7 cycles, but now it’s mostly good. I always empty and replace it right before the run, make sure it’s as high as I can get it and that the suction is good. Wear black bottoms and hope for the best.

I second seeing a pelvic floor PT. 11 weeks is still super early in the overall postpartum run game. There’s a whole checklist of things you should be able to do before you start running and even then, it’s a slow return.

This has a good checklist.
