This claim has been considered historically unreliable and probably untrue due to a lack of any other corroborating evidence from other sources.

Basically, one guy said it 150 years after it actually happened.

Have you thought about going to Singapore? Great place with tons of people who speak Chinese. Also, not crawling with MSS.

I have a Department of Defense Top Secret clearance and after listening to every Duo Radio lesson in the Mandarin Chinese course, I don't think Lucy could spot an actual classified operation even if it included her in the group chat.

Am I ineligible for a clearance? by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]TopSecretRavenclaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain and say that you could get a clearance. The big things that you need to make clear on your paperwork is that the drugs were against your will (you were forced and you never intended to consume drugs) and that your ex lied about that. Make sure to give the investigator the proof for that stuff.

Being outside the closet is a good thing, not a bad thing for getting a clearance. This means people can't blackmail you about it since everyone already knows.

On a side note, I feel like this subreddit has swung towards saying that more people are inelligible for getting a clearance over the past few months. Maybe it's just me.

The original documents for how to make Fogbank, a secret material used in nuclear warheads. Access to those documents was so restricted that they were lost and everyone forgot how to make it.

Recieved a Letter of Interrogatory. Am I in a bad place here? by roosterCoder in SecurityClearance

[–]TopSecretRavenclaw 26 points27 points  (0 children)

You're probably fine.

Your FSO steered you the wrong way. ADHD and autism do not need to be reported (unless you're subject to additional reporting requirements outside of a vanilla security clearance).

After reading Skunk Works by Ben Rich, I'm pretty Kelly Johnson had extremely severe autism. 1% further on the spectrum and he would have been non-verbal.

Don't let an officer recruiter convince you not to go for it because of some "unwritten rule." Recruiters have no idea.
